Said that I was selected to receive a grant. The call came from a local number (720-213-4960) but they gave me a number to call (202-596-1835) with a "grant approval number". Of course I'm going to look this up as the offer of thousands of dollars of free money that doesn't need to be paid back is just not realistic.

Sounds like an Indian accent. Woman told me that I have federal grant money and wanted me to go to Wal-Mart. Of course I knew it was a scam. They do know your number and name and ask for your age. Lie or hang up. Then gives you a DC number to call for instructions. Lol. I'm bored so they will be getting about 100 calls from me today! Ugh!

I was called from a number with my city’s area code. It was a women who called me and told me that I had gotten randomly selected for a 9000 grant and that I only had 2 options in order to receive it. In cash or direct deposit. It was a bunch of crap

A scam claiming to award you with several thousand dollars for a Fedral Grant you've been selected to receive. They ask you to purchase an eBay gift card or a Google Play card in the amount of $200 to pay a verification fee. What government program goes through eBay or Google???

They were told that their unemployment claim was being held up and had to be reviewed by a special investigation and wanted to find out if there was any information they could provide to help with the clam or what the next steps would be.
