KRS We are a small Landscaping Company in Southern California and DID receive a fax from Equifax; unfortunately we were waiting for a Government Project to send us information asking bank verification in order for us to be paid on a job just completed;  we sent the information to fax 202-652-4312 thinking it was a request on behalf of them.  This morning the owner of our company was contacted by his/her bank that there was a faxed request to sweep the checking account that was referenced in the Equifax fax; the monies were to be transferred to BANK OF NEW YORK, NEW YORK, ONE WALL STREET, NEW YORK, NY 10286 USA but actually 27 Kalanchaevskaya, Moscow, Russia. The bank we do business with contacted the owner of our company before releasing the money.  Lesson Learned...don't be too busy to verify....
