Just got a call from this number and realized that this was a scam, for I dont have an account with this Bank. I ended the call with in a minute and notified my carrier of this call. Do not take this call or give any information regarding any accounts information or credit card account numbers. Report this call to your carrier, so they can possible block further calls from this number.
I was informed by my bank that this number is part of a huge phishing scam and they are investigating it, if you get any calls from this number report them to your bank directly. Not only did they contact me with the debit card scam they also contacted a huge number of hsbc employees AT WORK !!! At the same time too. give them no info...oh, and also per my bank they are affiliated with more than just one phone number.
Received a call from this number stating that my debit card has been deactivated for fraud. As every one else stated, I was directed to press 1 to unlock it to 2 to exit. Really shady, as I have never heard of this bank. I hope that no one falls for this scam. People really ****....
this number called me and an automated voice told me that my debit card was locked and to press 1 to be connected to the security dept to reactivate. This was on my answering ma****e as I had not answered when it called initially. I contacted my bank today who informed me that this number is a reported scam and not to give out any info, also be careful using debit cards at gas stations and online. Another number****ociated with this one appears to be 8768426749 which shows up on caller id as JAMAICA. Both of these numbers called me within 5 minutes of one another and both numbers were not able to be called back,
This automated message stated my pre-paid Master Card had been locked up, and to press 1 to talk to their security department. I don't have a pre-paid Master Card, and ***g up on this phone call. I did call the phone number on the back of my Master Card and talk to them to let them know this was going on. When I tried to look up reverse phone look up, it informed me this number was unlisted. I would think this would raise every red flag about a scam.
I am in Buffalo ny and I got the same call, a few minutes after i got a call from Jamaica, same thing, I gave no info but called my bank who was able to tell me this is a scam. Do not give any info, they are hitting thousands of people all over the place. HUGE scam!

I have received two phone calls from this number. They do not leave a message. When I attempt to call the number back, I get a recording that state the number has been disconnected.
Missed call at 530 in the morning. Internet search shows multiple scams.
Just got a call on my cell phone stating my MasterCard account was locked. ***g up on it...called the number back and got the disconnected number message.
Just got a call from that number and a recording said my Mastercard had been locked and to press 1 to unlock it or two to leave. Didn't say what company Mastercard. I pressed 1 and got the same recording a***n. I pressed 2 and got the same recording a***n. ***g up. I called the # back and got a recording that it's not a working #. Hope I don't see a huge bill show up on my phone bill.
When calling back, it states that no one is at the number.
I got a similar call but instead of Washington Mutual, they say it is HSBC. Asked me to press 1. I did not proceed of course.
I wasn't able to get to my cell phone in time, and nor did they leave a message. But I looked up the phone number (203-322-9876 ) to see if it was someone I wanted (or needed) to call back. Guess I won't be calling them back anytime soon!! Thanks for the updates, everyone.
"This is HSBC bank, your debit card has been locked. Press 1 to reactivate."
I received a call at 12:14am (midnight) to my cell phone. No message was left. This is way too late for any business to be calling anyone. Am going to block this number.
didnt answer but keeps calling my cellphone, and leaves no message
These people want to steal your money. Report them to the FTC. Block them.
Rec'd call on cell phone at 2:00 am advising my Mastercard account had been locked and to press 1. I ***g up and immediately called Citibank Mastercard customer service who advised account was not "locked" but them offered to put account on a monitor for a fee of $12/month. Almost seems like a scam from credit card company. A way to create business.
automated voice saying my credit card had been locked and that to reactivate it, I should press 1
Received a call a few minutes ago claiming that my mastercard had been locked and to press 1 to speak to someone and unclock my card. I did not press any ****ons and ***g up. I called the number back and received an automated message saying that the number I dialed was not a working number. I looked online for information about the phone number and found this site. Apparently this number is****ociated with some scams. BEWARE!!
Called to say my Washington Mutual Debit Card had been locked. Washington Mutual is no longer a bank, I have no debit card with them.
S****ed getting automated messages from Washington Mutual about 2-3 times a day saying that my debit card is locked. I knew it was so****ing fishy since Washington Mutual has been bought out by Chase and that I never even owned a Washington Mutual Debit card in the first place. The annoying part is that the calls keep coming to my cell phone at varies times of the day.... sometimes a 5am, sometimes at 11pm.... Anyone has any advice on how to block it or have it stop?
GOT A SIMILAR CALL JUST NOW WACK COMPUTER VOICE saying they were from WASHINGTON MUTUAL BANK and that my DEBIT CARD was LOCKED press 1 to talk to our SECURITY DEPARTMENT female robot voice "hello this is washington mutual bank. we are sorry to inform you that your debit card is locked. please press one and you will be transfered to our security department" hahahaha SCAM
Got the same scam phone call this morning. Washington Mutual doesn't exist any more. I don't know what kind of information they are looking for but clearly this is a scam.
Received a call 2x in the last hour stating Washington Mutual Debit Card has been suspended and press #1 to reactivate it. I ***g up. Re-dialed the number and got a recording stating this number is deactivated.
Just received call from this number claiming to be from WaMu that my debit card has been unlocked1. WaMu no longer exists2. I have never had a debit card with WaMu, or Chase (who bought out WaMu)
Just received a call from this number claiming to be Washington Mutual (a bank that no longer exists). Scam, scam, scam, ***g up. Where do we report this?
Same here. Said my Washington Mutual debit card had been lost. Press 1 to reactivate or 2 to delete. ***g up.
Call came in at 10:30pm and, like the post from Very Unhappy, I heard a message advising to press "1" to unlock or 2 for so****ing else. My caller ID says the caller was "Kurz Gisella." I ***g up.
Got a call to my cell phone claiming to be from Washington Mutual saying "my" card was locked & to press 1 to be connected with their Secuirity Dept. Then got another automated message saying to press 1 to unlock or 2 for some other hard to understand option. I did not press further and waited to speak with a person but no person came on nor was such an option available. Scam likely-hood HIGH!
Washington Mutual debit card has been ....
Washington Mutual called and said they had to lock my card (don't have even an account with them) due to security breach. I needed to push some number to connect to their security department and activiate it a***n - clearly a fraud attempt.
Also got the same Robo call (computer generated voice) asking to unlock a Washington Mutual card (which of course no one has because the bank no longer exists. What's really annoying is the call arrived at 11:00 PM. Presumably, if you follow their directions at some point they will ask you for your debit card/credit card number. That's how the scam will attempt to get your money.
This number called telling me they were with Washington Mutual. Not a live person but a recorded message. Never been with the bank, how did they get my number.
no answer, when I tried to call back a recording said this was an unactive number

I just got a call over my lunch break and did push 1 the first time before realizing what was going on. Anyone know what happens? I called me phone company and there has not been any odd activity on my account. I just want to make sure I'm not going to get any kind of a charge in the mail for so****ing...
