Said they had a house for rent and would send the keys when I sent the security deposit and first month rent to money gram in someone else name.
I got this number after I responded to a Craiglist ad. Poster was offering a rental property below market rate. Once I gave them my real e-mail address, the poster tried to scam me (with the worst English writing I've ever read) into renting a property (that couldn't be shown) at a below-market rate. All I had to do was send the first month's rent and a deposit, and the keys would be sent to me.
Said him and his family was in New Haven, CT on a missionary trip and he was trying to rent his home out. I believe it's a scam
