number verified with fraud division of Wells Fargo
Caller just called, I didn't know the number, so I didn't answer. I have been getting a lot of calls from debt collectors but I don't owe because I don't charge, etc., This caller left a message, a stumble *** message, that he said (asian male voice) call us back and reference this number so we stop calling you. What?
This is actually a legitimate Wells Fargo number.
Lady calls claiming to be from Wells Fargo. She says she needs to ask some questions about my recent mortgage refinancing application. I don't have a home mortgage or do any business with Wells Fargo but to see what is going on I just answer "OK". She asks for my full name as it appears on my loan application. I give a complete alias and she doesn't say anything but pauses and I can hear typing. Then she asks for my address. I should probably have continued on with a made up address too but I was thinking that if I gave them a made up name that didn't match my real name or the one on the supposed application that at this point if they were a legitimate company they would have ended the call so I said you called me, I am not giving anything like that out to a stranger over the phone. She paused for a second then said she couldn't tell me anything until I verified that I was really Mr B (my alais). I told her I would save her the grief as my home is bought and paid for and that I had never applied for any type of loan to refinance my house so why don't you tell me what's really going on and what you are really up to. The lady was f****ered for a second and then just ***g up on me. Someone has called 4 times since then every 2 or three days. They do leave a message saying they are from wells fargo and they have some important questions they need to ask about before they can process my refinancing application. I am guessing that this is some kind of scam but it is funny how they keep calling back. Next time I can get them live on the phone I wiil just keep giving fake info and see if they will give their true motive for calling away. If I do I will report back.
