Just signed up for the San Gabriel Valley Tribune & s****ing receiving random calls but numbers I don't recognize. I am sure they are outsourcing our information.

Hey, A-Bill-Collector... guess what... I don't have any bills and am not in collections. But I'm still getting the phone calls! Oh, and I didn't sign anything saying that the newspaper company could sell my number... but they did, anyway. Guess your thoughts are WRONG on that matter. I'm cancelling my newspaper tomorrow morning.

This number as well as other unknown numbers keep calling. One day I picked up and the person on the other end s****ed speaking Spanish so I said please stop calling here. These number still call every day.

Hey I hate to tell you but collector's do not get your number this way. We have skip tools such as lexis nexis and novis. When you apply for credit and list a number our systems provide that number! There is no such thing as a DO NOT CALL LIST in collections! Either you or your family owes a debt. If you tell us not to call then MY company stops. If they continue to call you log the calls and contact an attorney. This is a law-suit waiting to happen. This number called me for my my mom, I simply told them I have no contact with her for over 2 years. They should remove my number now if not I will contact an attorney who handles this kind of problem for free! Of course I talk to my mom but they will have to find her themselves! Good luck to you, but a***n the DO NOT CALL LIST is aimed towards sales calls. But the Pizza places you order from have been known to sell your numbers though! But not the newspaper they would be breaking laws by giving your info unless you signed so****ing agreeing it was ok! You are a subcriber.

And yes, it IS your newspaper selling your phone number. Everyone should cancel their subscription! Here is how got me. I received a free newspaper from the Las Vegas Review-Journal with a teaser rate for 13 weeks. I called and subscribed. They just asked for my name and address. I made the mistake of not dialing *67 before calling them. The delivery guy called me shortly thereafter to verify my information even though I never gave anyone my number. Exactly one week later the calls s****ed. 8am, 1pm, and 8:30pm. They are very persistent.  I don`t know, nor do I care what they want. I never gave the newspaper permission to sell my unlisted phone number. One thing was for certain though, I called the paper the next day and cancelled my subscription!

I called this number back, and it's a newspaper delivery service inquiring about their customer service.  Which is fine with me.  It's just that a recording comes on.  I noticed they have different numbers, and I don't recognize the number.  I wll answer it next time, because I did place an order.

These *****es are from a database that calls people after they order newspapers from their local paper company. They are a SCAM. It has been reported and I am doing research on it as we speak!

They keep calling and when phone is answered, they don't reply.  Also has called several times and do not leave a message.  Caller id indicates Tuscaloosa, AL.   How about I call them 300 times and **** up!!!  KNOCK IT OFF.  Already on DO NOT CALL LIST.

Called and asked if I was getting my paper OK, And then proceeded to try to get me to pay my bill over the phone. NO WAY. BEWARE OF THESE PEOPLE

This number calls and leaves no message. I don't pick up but would appreciate that it is investigated. By what I've seen, there are too many complaints already. Is this worth it?

I signed up for a local Newspaper and now I'm getting calls from different numbers everyday at different hours. This being one of them.....

This same number called and id herself as from the Sun Herald Newspaper.  Wanted to know if I was happy with my subscription.  I queried her about renewal costs and she seemed to have the correct answers.  BUT...  she thought my email address had c****ed - it hasn't, and other times this number has called and just ***g up when I answered.  Calling the Biloxi, Gulfport Sun Herald to verify this.  Think it's either a scam or a bad move on the part of the newspaper

Said they were calling from my newspaper to see how I liked the service. I said fine. They said thanks and ***g up. Our local paper has an in house customer service and do not outsource nor do they have mystery callers.

We got this call from "your newspaper". My husband has our number out there everywhere for employment purposes, but it always surprises me when we get one of these calls and others have too. They said they were just checking to see how your service was.

I've received several calls from this number, claiming to check on our newspaper subscription (Daily Breeze). Someone fraudulently subscribed us using some stolen bank checks that I ordered online from Current.

i keep getting calls from this number 205-409-3236.  i got the newspaper a couple of weeks ago, but the only mesage left was a heavy sigh?  is the newspaper giving out private numbers?  Doe the newspaper sell my information?

I just got a call from this number.  I answered it and there was no one there.  Coincidentally, I did sign up for the local paper last week.  I'm hoping it's from an outsourced customer service call so I can nip it in the bud.  I do NOT like calls from things like this.

I've been getting 2 or 3 calls a day from different places: Alabama, *****chusetts, Kentucky... All different numbers.  Twice they said they were following up on a request for University Finders and twice there was a recording that it was my newspaper checking on our service WE DON"T GET THE NEWSPAPER!  They ask for me by my first name. My number is unlisted and unpublished and I never ever give it out.  Very strange!

From the looks of it, this ia a collection co. that is calling and they choose to **** up the phone after getting a beep to leave a message.

I keep recieving phone calls to my cell phone from this number. I don't answer it since I don't know who it is but they never leave a message. Since my phone is a cell phone I'd like the person to leave me alone.
