Leave a CommentThis number (one of their many) is for Portfolio Recovery****ociates. They have been calling off and on for over 3 years! They will call several times a day from different numbers, sometimes leaving a recorded message, sometimes not. For a time they directed the calls to my husband, then me, and now my daughter! I have tried calling back the number they leave, but get either a recorded message or a "Not in Service at this time" message. I honestly don't know who they are or what they want. These phone calls are the only communication I receive - nothing in the mail. I****ume they are some sort of credit collection agency, but we don't have credit cards, and they don't show up on our credit report. Is it best to just continue to ignore them?
Received a call from 205-588-8181 with "No Name" showing for the caller ID. First attempt. Did not answer. No message left
Another area code, another call. Third one in two weeks.
I usually don't call numbers I find on a bar restroom walls but this number caught my eye. Written on the wall was " For a good reach around call 205-588-8181, the Salad sisters swalllow". Well.. I have been single for a while now and I figured I try so****ing different than the cute little ****ese girl that gives a great *****ge but nothing more. So I called, only to find a converstaion with a ****** that must be so disease ridden I had to **** up! Goes to show,if they posted their number on the wall one can't trust those so low to advertise between the sprinkles and bugers..... sickos!
5 times in the last hour from this number......no message left
I don't answer calls that I don't know but the number keeps calling and won't leave a voicemail.
scam
Here we go a***n...have been called by these people 4 times this week with different numbers..i answer..no one there...i have now blocked them and have to block every number they call from..i am also on national no call list..someone stop these people NOW
Another "zombie debt" scam call. They call or send letters about things that either never existed, you paid off, or is too old regardless, in the hopes for some cash. Everyone these days is so "*** NOT MY CREDIT RATING!!!" that some people actually fall for it.
Don't give them a dime, it's an automatic admission that you owe them money. Never pay a collection agency a dime, all they'll do is collect what they paid for the debt plus about 20% then sell off the remaining debt to someone else... and the cycle continues. If you want to pay stuff off, get a good CPA/Attorney, for about 1******cks they will get the source debt and pay that once you've given them authorization to do so. It saves time and a LOT of money. Usually a good attorney can get about .40 cents on the dollar owed if the debt is over 2 years old. The fee to them is well worth it. They get do***entation from the source debtor and have the **** off your credit within 90 to 120 days usually.Don't EVER give a collection agency money though, there's not a single one that will fully take care of the debt.
They're calling me about a credit card that was paid off in 2005. Stating that I owe them 1500 exactly. The limit on the card was 1200 and there was never more than 300 bucks on it. Gotta love these idiots.
i view these as prank calls
They first have to sue you and have a judge rule in their favor before they can levy your account. You would have to be given notice by a process server to let you know that a lawsuit has been filed.
can they levy your bank account?
So I didn't know any better and I've already given them $150.00 on an old debt for a credit card i had in 2005 but that portfolio recovery****ociates purchased in 2007. should i continue paying them?
Dab nabbit..these idiots keep calling me daily..so far this makes the 11th. phone number they have called from. Wish The FTC would fine them and shut them down SOON!!
Didn't answer because I don't answer unknown callers on my cell to save a few centsn but sure am tired of them dialing this number!
This is the fourth area code they are calling from. I have been putting up with this for over four years! They stopped for a while after I told them the credit card company that they said I owed was going to open up an investigation on them - which was true because I notified them of what they were up to. Now it has s****ed all over a***n. They call sometimes 4 - 6 times a day. Whatever you do, DON'T ANSWER THEM OR ELSE YOU CAN MAKE MATTERS WORSE!
Will not stop calling
Getting calls from this number but no message is left.
Malisa Busch left me a message to call her at 866-428-6589. Apparently they do buy OLD debt. Like the kind you took care of 10 or so years ago. I guess they figure you may have forgot about it being gone and try to see what they can get. Very sad thinking there are folks out there paying these bottom feeders not knowing any better.
Portfolio Recovery s***bags . . don't answer 205-588-8181 These people are bottom feeders
left no msg. Sure its one of those bill collectors.
can not get away from the calls and **** ups !
Portfolio Recovery - collections
these people call and arent actually on the phone, they just leave a message, "if you are not 'so in so' please dont continue to listen to this message, by listening to this message you indicate you are 'so in so' and blah blah blahI can't seem to block these from coming to my cell phone, we have no house phone so they call my home all the time, but there is never anyone to speak to. Apparently they use many other numbers to call and harrass people, I found web pages of unhappy people with probably over a ***dred different numbers these people use to call us. Why cant they just send mail.
supposedly it is a number in alabama. thats what came up when i checked the area code
These people keep c****ing their numbers to call me..i am on the national no call list..also i owe no one anything..my credit is excellent..im lost here...go away

Said to be Portfolio recovery****ociates. Calling in a attempt to collect a debt from 4 yrs ago to a address we had never lived at.
They call constantly but never leave a message. Some say they buy old debts and try to collect on them. Not sure. One things for sure and that is they are annoying!

Received a call on my cell from 205-588-8181. Didn't recognize the area code so let it go to voice mail. No message was left.Reported it to: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/The last time I reported Portfolio Recovery****ociates the calls stopped for about 1 month. It's not perfect, but better than them continually calling.I have perfect credit and do not owe anyone anything; so does my spouse.
They left no message & I did not answer
They should leave a message if they're serious
