Leave a CommentThis company is full of ****. They are calling my reference from a pay day loan and threatening to get me fired from my job. I have told them they can not do anything yet they keep harrasing me and threatening me!!!!!!!!! I know this company is fake. I have called the local police department for that area and they told me to go ahead a file harrasment charges which I am in the process of doing in my home state. This sompany needs to be stopped!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I get a call from these people often, they are looking for some else at my number but they dont take the hint, they just keep calling. I have called them back 4 times to talk to them and give them the number that they keep calling and telling them that its wrong and they keep calling anyways! I dont know what to do to get it to stop!
I received a call today from the number in question with the caller having a very heavy accent. He said he was an Officer and calling to let me know that someone had created a contract with my personal information including my social security number. He gave me the phone number and said I needed to call back to verify who he was and to leave my information; good thing I know better. I was relieved to find this site as I figured it was some kind of scam but it was scary to hear someone say they have my information. When I called them back they asked for my name, I did not give it, I asked for their name and the name of their company but they just kept asking for my name and I told them I would not give them my name until I knew who they were; they ***g-up on me.
I have received multiple phones calls from this number (all foreign speaking males) stating that I had a legal affidavit filed a***nst me for 3 different very serious crimes... and that unless I chose to settle the matter out of court, I would be taken to court and could face penalties of up to $3,500! They said a loan company had deposited $350 into my checking account and when they went to withdrawal the money, it wasnt available for withdrawal. Also told me to settle my case outside of court, I would need to pay $500, when I told them I wasnt paying back money that I never received, and explained to the man that they would have to take me to court, he said he'd see me in court and ***g up. Not even 5 mins later, I received another call from the same place (different person, foreign)... when I tried to explain to the man that I had just spoken to someone from their agency, he kept telling me that I hadnt but yet read me the same "affidavit" the previous man had read to me. He then transferred me to an attorney that would be handling my case, this man told me all I needed to do was send $250 right away and my case would be settled. 2 totally different stories!! Also, today is a Sa****ay and I have received 2 phone calls from this place, but they claim to be a federal agency... I dont think so, not calling me on a sa****ay!! These ppl are scam artists! Do NOT send them anything!!
I received a phone call from this number threatening me with police, jail, arrest, if I did not immediately give a credit card number for $420 to pay a Payday Loan from a company called CashAdvance.Net. There is no such company. If you type this company name in you get CashAdvance.Com. This loan was supposedly deposited at ***** Credit Union in my account on 6/29/2009. However, the account at this credit union is a savings account, and cannot receive payday loans. They wanted me to give my credit card number for $420 then they would put it in writing that my debt had been satisfied. I told them to put this information to me in writing and they refused. They stated that they did not have to put it in writing because they were the United States Financial Crime Investigation Department in Washington, DC. (The area code, however, is in Washington State). They also called my sister, who is seriously ill. These people should rot in*****.
I received a call this morning from 206-855-5254 out of Washington and was told they were a legal department and said they were a Federal Agency, when I asked them who they represented he couldn't tell me, just kept say they are not a company just a legal department. I said "ell you have to work for somebody! so who do you work for" asked me if a I a knew a Charels R, said he had put my name and number down on a legal do***ent and I advised him that I was a Paralegal and worked for an Attorney and demanded he tell me who he was working for and representing and he refused. so I told him when he gets his facts straight to call me back and I ***g up the phone....two minutes later my cell rang a***n and I told demanded that they tell me the same thing and the refused so I ***g up a***n and looked them up on GOOGLE and found this website...SCAM!!! DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOIUR INFORMATION...I SPOKE WITH MY BOSS AND HE SAID THAT BY LAW THEY HAVE TO TELL YOU WHO THEY ARE WORKING FOR AND WHO THEY ARE REPRESENTING!!!
Consumer Alert: Attorney General warns Kansans of debt collection scamJanuary 29, 2010 -- Attorney General Steve Six is cautioning Kansas consumers about telephone calls from apparent fake debt collectors who are impersonating law enforcement officers in an effort to extort money from consumers. Consumers are warned to not submit payments to these fraudulent debt collectors. When calling, the scammers most often state they are attempting to collect a debt related to an internet payday loan obtained by the consumer, but which the consumer never repaid. Consumers state they have never obtained such a loan or paid off the loan years ago. The scam artists have most recently identified themselves as ACS, National Affidavit Processing Department and United Financial Crime Division, but may use additional phony names. It appears the phone numbers used by the scammers are “s****ed” numbers, so that the number appearing on a consumer’s caller ID is not the actual number of where the call originated. It appears the calls in question may be originating from outside the United States. When questioned, the individual calling refuses to disclose the full name or address of the collection agency they claim to represent. These scammers have been able to provide consumers with identifying information, such as the consumer’s social security number, home address, e-mail address, names of family members and the consumer’s computer IP address. Since the callers are able to provide valid personal information, consumers may become confused and believe they are being contacted in regard to a legitimate debt.If the initial debt collection scam is unsuccessful, consumers have been re-contacted months later with the scammers posing as law enforcement officers or officers of the court. Typically, the consumer is threatened with arrest for fraud or some other fic***ious crime unless the consumer agrees to immediately wire money via Western Union. The fic***ious officers strive to frighten and confuse consumers into compliance by using legal sounding terms such as “We’re filing an affidavit a***nst you” or by stating a lawsuit has been or is in the process of being filed a***nst the consumer.A hallmark of each scam has been calling consumers repeatedly at their place of employment. This scam hit home when an employee of the Kansas Attorney General’s Office was repeatedly called both on her cell phone and at work. Despite the employee’s repeated verbal disputes, the caller refused to provide any identifying information to allow her to send a written dispute. The scammer also continued to call her numerous times a day regarding a payday loan she denied obtaining. Two months later, she was a***n contacted by telephone by an individual identifying himself as an “officer”. “I denied owing the debt and refused to pay without being provided validation of the debt. I was then told, ‘If that’s the case, I will have local law enforcement come to your place of business and drag you out kicking and screaming’,” stated the employee.“It is important for consumers to know their rights under the law,” Attorney General Six said. “If a consumer is receiving calls from a debt collection company and believe it is a scam, I encourage them to contact our office immediately.”Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), collectors are required to send consumers a written notice within five days of the initial contact. The notification should contain information such as the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor to whom the debt is owed and a statement informing the consumer they have thirty days to contact the debtor in writing to dispute the debt or request validation of the debt. In addition, legitimate debt collectors are prohibited by the FDCPA from making false or misleading representations, such as the consumer has committed a crime, implying nonpayment will result in the consumer’s arrest, or using the threat of violence.More information is available on the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act at http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf. The Better Business Bureau issued an alert today saying consumers across the country are getting phone calls from bogus debt collectors claiming default on a payday loan. Of course, the consumer needs to pay a large fee to avoid arrest -- as much as $1,000.The caller poses as a lawyer, and may threaten extradition to face trial if the consumer doesn't pay up immediately. What makes these calls alarming -- and perhaps convincing -- is that the perpetrators reference the consumer's personal information, such as the person's Social Security number, driver's license number, previous bank account numbers, home address -- even personal references."The amount of information they have is really troubling," says BBB spokeswoman Alison Southwick. She adds that the amount of data points to a possible security breach.Spread the word to your friends and family: Don't give out personal or financial information to an unknown caller. Scammers can s**** Caller ID to display different numbers, so trust your instincts over technology. The BBB offers these tips:• Ask the debt collector to provide official do***entation which substantiates the debt. • Do not provide or confirm any bank account, credit card or other personal information over the phone until you have confirmed the legitimacy of the call. • File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission online if the caller is abusive, uses threats or otherwise violates federal telemarketing laws or the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. • File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau online if you believe a debt collector is trying to scam you.
