"donovan jean" is a total scam. I got the EXACT same email that you all got, and promptly reported him on the FTC. Please post a complaint on the FTC's site to help to catch this guy: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/This is the email he sent me:How are you doing i just want to tell you that the payment would be sent by UPS Courier Service and deliver to you by Tuesday Morning and the item will be picked up as soon as you receive my payment,I will wait for the payment to get cashed before i'd send my mover for the pick up.I will like to tell you that i would be sending a cheque worth of $3,000 to cover the moving of the item and the money for the item As soon as the CHECK reaches you, have it cashed and remove your money for the item and send the remaining fund to my mover by via Western Union OR money gram international transfer. My mover is also picking some of my other items up for me in the same city of yours so that is why i need to give him that amount. I will like you to remove $100 for your running around in getting the CHECK cashed. Please let me know if i can trust you on this so we can move forward from here.RegardsDonovan
I posted for sale a pool table and he posted his name as "Donavan Jean" [[email protected]. Said he would pay for shipping and provide my address and number for certified check(which he spelled incorrectly). Now he wants more pictures and confirm payment by Tuesday. He would send his "private shipping company" to come and pick up the table. Thanks for posting this, I was su****ious this whole time. Now this blog confirms it! PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I got the same badly worded response to a Craiglist ad. I suppose that there are some really gullible people out there, but I wasn't about to give out my phone number or address until I was sure that I had a legitimate buyer. I went ahead and responded that we are only dealing with local buyers on a cash basis, but I'm sure that they know I'm on to them anyway.
this idiot responded to my craigslist ad I had....stating he'll send a businss check including the shipping fees...
this guy Emailed me requesting that I take my "items" off craiglist because he wanted to bye them from me. he was going to provide a mover, and that he wished he could come by and see the "item" himself, but he was getting a promotion or so****ing. I google map searched the address he gave me and it was some ****py old car lot in Oklahoma.
I had a post on Craigslist, and a guy named "Ricky Herlys" contacted with this phone number. The address provided was a car dealer lot in Oklahoma, but the area code is (206). 888 number sounds su****ious, too, anyway.
Similar story but my guy's name was Ricky Herlys and his written English was quite broken. He only referred to my "item", yadda yadda. S***bag.
This "Kenny Joe" person replied to an add that I posted on CraigsList, claiming that he wants to purchase the item out right. He provided the "206-888-6074" which obviously is a SCAM! When I called the number I reached an automated recording providing no information whatsoever!
