Leave a CommentYou're right. It is USAA.
I came home to find a message on my answering ma****e. Caller ID listed the call as "USAA 210-456-1814". The person leaving the message said it was "USAA Recovery", and requested my husband return her call at 800-668-6873, but didn't state what she wanted. She knew my husband's first and last name - however, we do not have - and have never had - any accounts with USAA. I was suscpious so I did a search on the number and found this site.
ATTENTION!!~ I received a call, but accidentally ***g up before I could say*****o. On the internet I found conflicting info about whether this was valid for USAA or not. They did nto make any attempt to return the call or email me or use the USAA message system on their website, so I s****ed getting su****ious this was a scam. I called the 1800 for USAA and was told by a clerk there that it is indeed a phishing scam. Anyone who posts differently is either being misinformed or is trying to trick you into falling for the scam. USAA asked that I report the call details at their abuse website link so they can track and help catch the perpetrators. DO NOT give out your info!! If you get a call from USAA get a name and ask to call them back. Call back at the main published number (not whatever they give you) and follow the prompts to get back to the dept calling you. A valid call will be tracable back to the person you were talking to. In 15 years, I have NEVER had USAA call me unsolicited. If they need to reach me they send me a message in their website messaging system. They do not call and ask for your personal identifying info or your PIN/Password over the phone if THEY ini***ated the call. That is a classic SCAM warning flag!!!
I got a phone call from 210-456-1814 as well and since I used to use USAA bank, I contacted them to make sure this was a legit number for them and the rep told me that it is indeed. Hope this helps
I think I received this call from USAA to confirm a large credit card transaction. Probably part of their fraud control software program.
Called them back and confirmed what everone else has said before me, it's USAA.
This number is from USAA: 2104561814
This is USAA
It is legit. It is USAA. https://www.usaa.com/
I've been getting a few calls from this number but they have never once left a message so I'm not sure how legit it is.
This # is from a land line in San Antonio TX. It is located on S. Flores St. No one left a message when calling me. USAA is in San Antonio. It is possible this is a legit #. If you deal with USAA then call or check your account. Still do not just s**** giving personal info away!!!!!!!!
This is USAA. Military bank, loans, insurance.
Notified me of compromised credit card
I have given my phone# when dealing with some people on craigslist, then they never call me. I'm guessing some scam artist are harvesting phone #s this way. Probably best not to give your phone to anyone who replies to your ad on CL...or whom you reply to...get their number first and be sure it's local.
This is legit. They left a voice msg about possible fraudulant use of my account, so I check USAA's web site and there was a message at the top in red asking me to call USAA.
I was selling a boat and had a guy interested in it, and i talked to this guy for a few weeks about the boat. Then he said he would buy it and he said his bank was going to contact me and this # was the one that called me. And the guy was wanting info on the boat like all the serial #'s on the boat , motor and trailer. I did not give them the serial #'s or any of my bank info on the boat, but I did ***** up and give him my address. OOPS. Don't answer this call or if you do then just ***** with them.
there was several calls from this #
