Anonymous Text reads as follows: “ I've got some spare time tomorrow.How about we ***** some hoops at the court? Are you up for it? This Aaron” This is a scam text. These are used to test whether the number they are sending texts to is owned by a person and isn’t****igned to a business or fax ma****e. Once they know a real person is attached to the number, they sell the number and any relevant information you give them to other scam companies and advertisers. DO NOT reply to these texts! Immediately block the number and report it as a scam or junk. Similar texts will ask for “Lisa” or another common name, and mention things like returning a borrowed dish or asking if a child can come for a sleepover or if the recipient is coming to an event. Do not reply or initiate conversation - block, report, delete.
