I find this very hard to believe as this number has been used to call me on many occasions

Ano Automated system, comes out with this number, its not specifically "the jail" or "john q. Law" calling, but it is a call from the dallas county judicial system, I.e.- if they are taking the time/effort to reach you: you will answer them sooner or later. Cases, fines, misc. etc etc etc.
