Leave a CommentThey asked for a co-worker of mine at 4am
The caller called my work line and was claiming to be with census center wanting to know about product and services our company provides. Asking questions about the percentage of each that goes to our revenue . . . I finally told them I had to get back to work as this was taking up too much time and I was not the one to be having this conversation with them. They have since called back 5 times in 1 day, all of which I did not answer.
unknow person using A C as idenity
Caller ID said AC. I looked into it deeper and turns out AC= **** cavity. They wanted to verify my info for Yellow Pages. I said my company was Barry Soetoro &****ociates,1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Wash DC. Our business was advancing Marxism in America by all covert means necessary. He passed me on to a verification person who got the same info. I signed up for everything they offered and told them to send the bill to our DC office. They were very happy with the sell!!!
I have been getting calles repeatedly from this number for weeks. I used to ignore the calls due to the out of area area code, but recently thought I would answer to put a stop to the calls. Every few days another call comes in, and when I answer, the call is disconnected. I have tried calling the number to ask to be removed from their list, but only get a busy signal. Very frustrating. The calls come to my business, and they are not only a distraction, but an annoyance as well.
Similar here - they called about 2 days ago asking for my husband, saying they were from Infotech doing a survey - I cut them off right then and said he won't be interested in answering. They called a***n today - same thing, asking for him (which he's not home during the day). We're on the do not call lists AND we have an unlisted number. YES we own a business, but this isn't even the business number they're calling, and NO we won't be accepting any "free" listings. Next time, I'll pretend I'm him and tell them to remove us immediately.
I used to run a reputable call centre, this one seemed shady from the begining of the call. Said they were from INFOTECH doing a survey and I would get a $15 Amazon gift card. i was at my computer and quickly looked up infotech (519) area code..... As was stated above, the woman tried to get me to say "YES"
constant calls, no one is there, must be automated
claimed to be centurylink, our phone provider when I asked how do I know you're with century link, he ***g up, 2nd call like this this week
Just got the same information - spoke to lady i.e. calling from Century Link to verify my business information. Unfortunately, I provided what she ask and when she ***g up abruplty I look number up on internet.....**** I can't believe I got scammed! For what don't know yet! Guess I will find out.
They have called me quite a few times, I have yet to connect with anyone. The one time that I answered there was no one on the other line.
S****ed showing up about a week or two ago. They never leave a message, and I never answer. Crooks can't take what you don't give them.It is annoying, though. It almost makes one want to get a new number, what with all the scams going on these days...
Just received a call from this number... it is the second time they have called.. in both they simply **** up when the phone is answered. Reporting them to the State Attorney Generals Office.
They say that they offer Amazon gift card the Amazon gift card does not work when you redeem. They have called numerous times and every time, I said that the card does not work. They press for the survey first and do the follow up on the gift card after. What a SCAM. The Amazon gift card does not redeem.
Got call this morning from the same number. Said they're from MIT. I asked them how they got my number. She said its done by another team. And she asks me mostly management question. The questions kept coming in. I asked them how many more. Said I don't have time, and said them to call me later. The lady with accented voice was surely ****ed of. Now I know its a BS telemarketing call.
They called my AT&T cell number in North Carolina. No name, so I didn't answer.
The number is 214-446-9836.
They called saying that they are calling from HEALTH PAGES, that they have our info from Dentemax (we are a dental office and are afiliated to Dentemax) and just need to update our information in the directory. We would only have to confirm the datas that they already have and there is no charge for this and if we would want to upgrade they will send to us a fax with all the info about upgrading. The operator (a lady with strong asian accent), MARTHA M****ES by her name, said our info correctly and than she asked me to go through an automated system to confirm a***n and that we only have to say yes or no after the tone. At the point where I was asked if I am 18 yrs old and that I am authorized to take decisions in the name of the company I said "No" (I am over 18 but not the owner!!) so she interrupted the automated and asked me to confirm and say "Yes". I asked her to give me her extension for the owner to call and update whatever they need to and... she ***g up!!Called them back and got the "we're sorry, you have reached a number that was disconected"...
Said they were verifying/updating my listing on their website, a health magazine site - which I thought unusual for my business. Then, in asking me to verify info as current, they wanted me to say "yes" to me being the authorized person to make c****es to my telephone number. I refused. They said they were not billing me anything. However, I still refused, saying this is how I got scammed once before and took months and months and threats of cancelling my phone service with AT&T to get repeat charges off my account. This phone number, 214-446-9836, when you call back, is disconnected or no longer in service. SCAM! Beware and CHECK YOUR PHONE BILL for unauthorized charges.
I just received a call on my cell from this number and person indicated that they were doing an IT survey for MIT. When I asked if he was from Mass Insitute of Technology he replied yes sir MIT. When he ask me what country I was from I knew he was full of S*^&. After repeated questioning he finally revealed he was from Management Information Tracking and kept pressing me to continue. At that point I asked him to remove me from his list, he was friendly to the request and said he would.
Man with very heavy accent, said he was calling from "Healthbeat". I asked what this was, he said it was an online directory or health related businesses. Needed to update info, said there was no charge. Then proceeded to tell me what he was offering was free for 30 days. After not taking no for an answer, I just ***g up on him.
This is one of a number of scams that have been growing in number in recent months. "True Yellow Pages", "Yellow Pages Online", "ZipWeb", etc etc. Are all examples of this. They call to "update your information for your free listing". Their web listing either does not exist or does not turn up on any search engines (I have checked this myself as well as having friends who work for Google and Yahoo check into it, this is a total scam). Uninformed person likes idea of free listing and gives the info, at some point the caller gets the uninformed person to say the word "Yes", at which point they sign them up for the pay service after a 30-day trial (they bill via 3rd party through your phone bill), basically they will take the audio recording of you saying "Yes" and paste it to a statement by their rep asking if you understand the Terms and Conditions of their service, essentially *****ing you. This will make it very difficult to both quit the 'service' and to get back what you've been billed. Best things to do are as follows:1. Put a 3rd-party billing block on your phone bill ASAP. Your phone company should do this for no charge to you.2. Do not under any cir***stances say "Yes" or anything that can be taken as an affirmative statement. These scams will take that and paste it to their rep asking if you understand the Terms and Conditions of their service, essentially *****ing you.3. When they call, tell them to remove you from their calling list. They are trained to ignore this and press for you to update your information. At that point, raise your voice and threaten lawsuits a***nst both the company and the representative personally. Be agressive, verbally tear them a new one. Do this for about one minute, and if they have not already disconnected, then **** up. You will be much more likely to be removed from their lists if you are forceful bordering on abusive on the phone. (I've managed to get off the lists of ZipWeb and a couple of the "YellowPages" scams using this approach).4. (Most Important) Do NOT feel bad about being abusive toward the rep. These reps know full well what kind of "business" they are working for, so they are not without sin here. This is what you must do to get this to stop, so do not hesitate to do it.

We have received a call from this number asking us if we lived at such and such address. When my mother asked who they were, they stated that they were from CenturyLink and were tying to update their records. The agent read out the address and when my mother said yes, they ***g up. She knew so****ing was wrong and called the BBB. They said that this number has been reported as a scam, that when CentryLink took over an old phone company, these people were able to find peoples account information and when they call, they try recording you as saying "yes" so they can say you authorized a payment. They told my mother to call the Attorney General as well and they told her the same. They are in works of shutting these people down.......so if you answer and someone does speak, let them know they have been busted!!!!!!!!!!!

They called my business phone and claimed to be from CenturyLink which is my business phone provider. They identified my business name when i answered. How could they link my business phone number to my service provider unless someone at CenturyLink provided it to them?
***ody answers but they call over and over suspect they are a debt collector, but do not know thta for sure
this number comes up as A C on the caller id but when you call it back it says it is disconnected or no longer in service which would seem to be a red flag I have no idea what company this is and they called at noon.
Comes up as "A. C. 214-446-9836" on caller id. No one there, no sound, does not talk. Repeat caller.
They call them self health rating, and they keep calling after I warned they to stop. Companies like this are scams. I asked them for their number and gave me a wrong one.

Foreign woman babbling about so****ing.Caller id said A C.
Called but I did not get to the phone in time. There was a "message" but it was just 20 seconds of silence. Caller ID showed as A C
Caller ***g up when phone was answsered. ID showed AC. When called back, recording says number is disconnected or no longer in service
I answered, but the caller just ***g up. What is the point of their calling?
They do not answer and ****up, calling the number only gets that the number has been disconnected, maybe they play the tape.too bad the phone companies do no offer a switch feedback capture service, so that all switches made when you get the call cannot be disconnected until you **** up.then the phone company could provide you with a trace of the physical layer to the exact phyical location of the call.
I got a call from this number claiming they were calling from the local yellow pages. I just said I wasn't interested and ***g up. In the next hour they called a***n. I just keep on ****ing up on them and they keep on calling.
