Applied for a BofA credit card and wasn't immediately approved. Moved on and applied for a regular AmEx. 2 weeks later I got a call from this number on Sunday Morning! He asked for follow up information regarding my application. He knew my new employers name and asked what my annual salary would be (which was already part of the application). I've had id theft in te past and asked how I could know if he was truly from BofA. He said he had the application in front of him. And he apparently hacked my credit history because he knew of previous closed credit accounts in my name. Just creepy and unsettling that nothing is safe anymore.
it is the recovery department at bank of america.... settlement department..
I got a call from this number this morning. He said he was from Bank of America and asked if I had an account there. He asked me my address to verify, but I didn't give it to him. He knew where I was located and my job ***le. I asked how he got my number and he said he googled it. If he was really from BofAm, why would he be googling my information to get in contact with me? Anyway, it seemed like a scam or so****ing!
Actually left a message! However, she never asked for any one by name. Said she was calling for Bank of America and kept talking about the options for our "business" and a line of communication about the "business" you have. Gave her name as Candy so****ing and said she would be handling our account through March, then said we might also get calls from her****ociates and gave a phone number to call back.Don't know what "business" she can be talking about. We have never had a "business"!
got a call from this # - couldn't answer at the time left a message saying they were with Bank of America and were looking for someone that put me down as a reference - never heard of this person. Told me it was urgent and I needed to call him back at 866-800-9960 ext 80909
Got a call and they knew my mothers name, I told them she doesn't live here, he s****ed talking and the phone got all garbled. He did not call back. Sounds like a scam to me.
This is a scam related to BofA. They claim to be BofA but upon further investigation are not.
Caller did not identify himself - just kept asking questions about one of our company's owners. He called my home and not our business. Then he ***g up.
This phone number is from collection for Bank of America.
Got a call from this #. They left a msg 4 my x-husband but didn't say where they were calling from. Just said that money is owed
Bank of America is currently investigating this person and number. Any time that you feel unsecure with a call a Bank of America rep will NEVER have a problem with you disconnecting and contacting the number on the back of your credit/debit card. If you recieve a call and the caller ID does show Bank of America, this is the first sign that it could be fraud. Most calls from Bank of America will show unknown. Most of Bank of America calls will be from a 302 area code. The only exception will be if you have arranged for an account manager to contact you. I ask you whether you are with Bank of America or another financial ins***ution and you feel, or know, that you gave information to a fraudulent third party contact them and a credit reporting agency. Tell your financial ins***ution that you need new cards and tell the credit reporting agency you want to add a fraud alert because you are the victim of ID theft.

This number called my cell phone while i was at work. I didn't have a chance to answer it and no voicemail was left. I didn't recognize the phone number, and upon looking up the area code, which is from Cleveland, OH, i knew it was not someone i know, living in southern california. It prompted me to look up the number online. I'm glad I did.
