CiscoKid This number has called my cell phone 6 times in the last 4 hours, beginning at 6:00 am Eastern time. No one says anything when I answer. When I called the number back, a recorded message said, "Your call cannot be completed as dialed. Please check the number and try again.' This is most likely a robo-dialer being used by some scammers. I'm blocking the number.

The Caller ID read Bell Canada."Landline phone. I asked if they could call back later as I was on the way out, they had said everything was all right. When I returned home it occurred to me that one of my children occasionally worked in Canada and I attempted to call them back, but could not connect. I guess the spammers were in the middle of dinner, or done for the day.

caller asked if we sold a specific product and told me it was for GPS, I said we sold another product and then he gave an address and asked if it is ours....i said no. he repeated himself and then hung up. he had amiddle eastern indian accent, caller ID said call was from bell canada.

J If Verizon tech support is calling, it must be message on the phone display : VERIZON. I believe it is Indian people. I do not understand why Indian is serving us. The V-President of Verizon is Indian, but the service is terrible. Money i s only money. Nothing more.

Rich Heavy accent, hard to understand but wanted to confirm my shop's address even after I told him it was closed. I said that they had the correct address and he said thank you.

Called my store asking where we were and what we sold . When asked to identify himself he refused and hung up. When I called the number back to complain it was automated message saying it was some sort if company gathering info for GPS systems.... Total scam

When they called me I answered and then they didn't say anything and hanged up I called them back first it was busy then a min later I tried again and then I got a ring and then a busy tone but different and it was really really annoying.

I had gotten 1 call from this person and then when i had said hello they just hung up on me.

Calls every single day, I do not answer, they do not leave a message. Very irritating!

hmmm got a call at @ 2:30pm from 216-912-3971. No message left, then 2 seconds later i got a call from unknown. IDK who this is, but their game of calling from a number then calling back with it blocked only works when your in middle school. Called the number back and it was conveniently busy.

BL Got a call from this # at 2pm on 9/11/2010.   Let answering machine get it - no message left except for a few touch tone keys.

When you call this number it explains that they have been hired by a company to gather addresses of retailers. No detailed info is given.

Apparently if someone is calling from outside the US using Yahoo...it will give you a number like this to call through.

Michele Ahhh After reading the above post by Luis I feel much better! I too, just had DSL problems with Verizon and had given my cell number as an alternate contact number. While I did not answer the call so I cannot say with 100 % certainty, I feel the call is most likely from Verizon.

private number Threatening scam artist who identifies himself as "Officer James Brown" and I should call him back at 401-757-3058 or something bad will happen to me.  I reported this to my phone provider and the authorities as recommended at http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-401-757-3058  The Attorney General stated to me that this is indeed a phishing scam...don't respond, they will give up when people do not call them back.

Person called stating they were from Verizon. I called Verizon and they've stated that 216-912-0343 is not one of their numbers.

Luis This is Verizon tech support calling.  I had a problem with my DSL and they would call up to update me.  They would also called to setup a time for when a technician can come over.

Propsect Ave.Cleveland, Ohio  44113The contact person who I reached was Sharon Ruder at 216/654-1820.  She would not verify what was the source of the call (which was from somebody with a thick Indian accent), but when I told her that it was a marketing call to gather "business information" for "Maptex," she told me that she had an idea of which of their clients that it was.  Their clients use their system by sending their phone calls through their system, however technically it works.  The offender which she "suspected" was a company from India.  She would not give a contact fax number, but promised to try to contact the offender and stop the conduct

They confirmed our business type, address and postal code. Didn't identify themselves or why they were calling. Then when politely questioned, they hung up. I don't have time for this at work. We're a busy place and this is simply rude and unacceptable. Is there any way to find out the name of this business?

.maripat We recently tried to upgrade our dsl service.  this number started calling us saying they needed information about who was in the house at what time and asking if we had any animals in the house.  they said they were verizon and needed to send technicians in.  we called verizon after the fact and they said it was not them and they put a tracer on our phone and suggested we call the police and fire a report.

Josey Person with heavy accent called my cell phone and asked was this a business and asked if my address was so and so i told him no and hung up. i called the business name for satyum computer services which is 800.450.7605 to see if they knew that these people were using thier name. they identified themselves as a car navigation systme company but thier voice mail says something different. How can we catch these scammers.

Received call on my cell phone which is listed on the Do Not Call Directory. How did this call get through?

I've received two calls from this number today. The man has a very heavy Arabic accent and asks probing questions without identifying himself. When I questioned him, he stated that they are a car navigation system company. I hung up on him. Second call came about an hour later. I just hung up on him again.

G He called our home phone number.The man calling sounded “India” and frail.  He asked for the owner.  I asked WHO he was calling – he asked if we sold hardware.  I said No.  I asked for his name and I believe he said his name was Richard Lum.  He asked if we were located at xxxxxx Avenue.  I told him this was not a business and not to call again.  He then hung up.My suggestion is the next time they call, to ask them to hang on a minute while the recorder is activated, as we are going to contact the FBI.  That should annoy them enough to call someone else perhaps or at least not to call us again.
