I'm receiving calls from 228-574-9002.wanting me to accept a collect call from this number?What gives with this scam?

They just call, and when you re-dial the number its busy.

5/30/08A small business has been receiving calls from this number repeatedly as `collect' calls.  There does not appear to be a party on the other end, however, initially, the call was answered in the name of the business then an automated voice prompted to accept a collect call. This appears to be a  scam and you should report any such calls immediately to the local authorities, the Attorney General's Office in your state, the Public Utilities Commission, FTC, FCC and/or the FBI. The caller ID is the number 228-574-9002.  These calls appear to  be originated or facilitated by a service providing communication services to inmates at correctional facilitie known as Correctional Billing Services(CBS), a division of Evercom Systems Inc. and T-Netix Inc.  Check out their website.  Apparently, they will need to be indicted and/or sued as appropriate. File formal complaints everywhere you can.
