Leave a CommentCall came in and I answered it, but no one said anything from the other end. After about a minute, they jumped off.
These people are trying to rip members off, using social engineering. BEWARE
no one there
Also had this "woman" calling asking about an account I didn't have..I asked her where she got the information, she said they would verify, and then ***g up. I tried to call back, but got a message ma****e. Oh, she said her name was Lisa Smith, although she spoke with an Indian accent.
Daily and multiple callas from this #. I have never answered it.
This woman called me from this number telling me that they wanted to send me a 50$ gift car and that I would only have to pay a 1$ shipping fee. Her accent was slightly french ca***ian, She said that she needed to verify my adress, and asked me to hold one minute sir, then, 1 second later, dont hank up sir, please hold on sir, 5 seconds later, in a slightly paniced voice "dont **** up sir, one moment" then I heard all this nonsense dial tones, very annoying.. So I grew impatient, and I thought about all the money I was wasting listening to this sherade, and I ***g up lol.
231-224-2074 AVA ID. I answered the call, no one spoke. I ***g up. Who are these people?
I ordered a free Natural healing or Natural Medicine book from a TV adverti*****t that said I only needed to pay for shipping. What a Joke.. After that I have been getting phone calls from this number and many others trying to sell me junk. The person selling the book on TV must be selling my phone number that I used to call them.I have never received any calls from telemarketers before this since It is from my cell phone which is not listed in any phone directory anywhere. Maybe I should sue the company that misleads people into thinking they are actually getting a free book without harrassments.Have any of you ordered this type of book?
I've been getting phone calls over the last two days from AVA at work. I spoke to Patrick (Manager) and told him to remove my name from the list. I called my bank and asked them to cancel my card and give me a new card. I know, it's SO ANNOYING!!!
Marc Olson - go to the following website to report your crime. sounds like you may be eligible for res***ution.http://www.fbi.gov/majcases/fraud/internetschemes.htmi've been receiving the same phone calls from the 231-224-2074 (Michigan area code) number plus others either letting me know that they "have my credit card records in front of them" and can****ist me in cutting my debt in half and/or can offer me some sort of deal for a card or so****ing, but it's a curious thing becuase i don't own a credit card.
a nuisance call on a daily basis...never anyone there on the other end..
Called me,trying to obtain credit card info, calling it a courtesy call
It's January and I'm still getting daily calls from this number. I've been reporting it everyday to the National DoNotCall Registry, but it doesn't look like anyone is investigating despite all these complaints.
I have received more than one call from this number today. My caller ID also displays "POTS Phone MI" in the name field. I have also received calls from the same company only with New Jersey after the name and the phone number 201-257-4421. They are both always silent when I pick up the phone. I called back once, and it sounded like the call center, because the recording asked me stay on hold and wait for the next available operator or have me leave a message for someone. They are definitely selling so****ing. They didn't even answer with the name of the company on their recording, just asked me to hold. Please be aware of this number.
This # has been calling twice a day for the past month.Thankfully I have caller id and don't answer any unfamiliar calls. I am getting rather tired of deleting thier calls every day.
I have also been contacted with the exact scheme described.
I received a call telling me about the impressive standing of my VISA card. This card is a bank debit card that was re-instated the day before after an online company (Bid Fuel) made an unauthorized debit and created an avalanche of overdraft and negative balance fees. Furthermore, I have a very poor credit rating. I was told I had won a $25 gas card and so****ing else I cannot recall. Then I was told it would cost me $1 to 'pay' for these winnings. At that point I said "No thank you" and the caller said goodbye and the call was disconnected. After my experience with Bid Fuel, I am on guard for these types of calls. The phone number that showed up on my caller ID is 12312242074. I hope your office is able to use this information to reduce the number of debit card and credit card schemes. The caller accurately describe the last 3 or 4 numbers on my bank card. I googled the phone number and found a significant number of people have had this type of surprise call from this same caller or company.
Got a call (AT WORK) from this number...asking for my husband WHO DOES NOT WORK HERE and stated it was regarding his mastercard account. When I told her that he doesn't work here and asked HOW she obtained my office number as I am his wife...SHE ***G UP!!!
The caller always asks for my wife and says they are calling about her Amex account....and immediately ****s-up when I ask who is calling. I called back their number and left a message to include me on their no call list...*** chance that will happen. This could be a scam or it could be a marketing company. I was called by two other companies who referenced a recent purchase on one of my credit cards. When I probed about who they were, they said they were affiliated with the company the product was purchased from....essentially they bought a marketing list that included my phone number and the last four digits of my credit card from the company I bought goods from over the phone. During a phone order (unlike an internet purchase) there is no way for you to specify that you don't want your purchase info to be shared with "marketing affiliates". The en***y calling from (231)224-2074 is either scamming to take over your iden***y...or it is executing a ****** version of the marketing tactic described above. Either way..DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION!
I have been getting calls from this number daily.
i never answer this #, this should be investigated by authorities. Wish I could block this number
I've received multiple calls from this number over the past month. They say that they wish to thank me for being such a good customer and keeping my account ending in the last 4 digits of ....in good standing. They also explain that they are not selling me anything. They want me to receive some materials from several different business names. (Each call is a different company coming from the same phone number. Business names have been LCD.com, Eliteld.com, long distance service, and Travel Escape. In addition to the materials from Travel Escape I would be sent a $50 gas card for only $1 shipping and handling. Also the caller always has a very strong east indian accent.
I've received four calls from 231-224-2074 wanting to thank me for being a good Visa customer. I don't have a visa card. She said she was calling from California, but the area code is in Michigan. She said my account(which I told her I did not have) ended in 3092. She said she was with Today's Escape Plus. She wanted to send me a FREE $50 gas card for only $1 shipping charge on my part. Gotta be a scam.
Hey i received a call from that number: (231) 224-2074, and they asked for my wife. I told them she was not here and they said it had so****ing to do with her visa.... ha ha ha, her visa is my visa.... they ***g up on me.I tried to call them back but the voice mail said, "you have reached the marketing department", (no company name), please leave your name, address, and phone number and we will get back to you"..... what a bunch of spammers, any legit company will have the name of their company on their company phone. also, why would a legit company ask for your address... duh!!!!Any way, stay away from AVA... kinda rhymes...
Someone from this telephone number has been calling me repeatedly for weeks. Fortunate for me, I don't normally answer this call as I didn't recognize the telephone number.
I can't really add much to this alread, but I can add that the Caller ID shows up on my phone asAVA
I get this a**** many others on a daily basis at my office. On my slow days when I am feeling a little "mean" I will answer and let them get into their sales pitch acting very interested. I will then interupt and ask them to hold for just a minute. I will lay the phone down for about 5 minutes and come back on the line (sometimes they are still there and sometimes not) I will them tell them, "Okay, I am back. I wasted five minutes of your time NOW you can waste five minutes of mine!" Most the time they just **** up. It doesn't solve anything but it sure makes the day go by a lot faster!!! Have a good one!!!
I s****ed getting calls from them right about the time my bank sent me a new card stating that my card may have been compromised. The Wachovia representative informed me that someone hacked an ATM ma****e in my area which gave them PIN numbers and my account information. Luckily I have an Interceptor device that blocks all calls I don't want, and it never rings through, it is just stored on the device as a blocked call, so I did a google search brcause they call so often, and found this site. It may just be a coincidence about the info my bank provided as I also have recently purchased items online with that old card before I activated the new one. Either way I hope that someone soon s****s prosecuting all these *******s who relentlessly continue calling people on "do not call lists" and keep selling phone numbers to all kinds of scam artists. The Interceptor ID is the Best investment I EVER made since many numbers I'm getting calls from are untraceable and flagrantly violate "No Call List" subscribers with apparently NO way to get caught, and they will NEVER stop calling. Many come up "NO NAME, NO NUMBER"on the caller ID now. My interceptor also rejects these calls from ringing thru to me as well! I have serious insomnia and the rare chances I do get to sleep were ALWAYS disrupted by these ******s until I got this device. :)

I have been receiving phone calls from this number for about a month now. They have also told me that they are affiliated with my visa card and when I asked which company it was through they ***g up. They continue to keep calling here however. I am not sure how to stop them from harassing me. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it. The number by the way comes up as AVA on the caller id
received call stating it was in regards to my mastercard ending in **** and because my account has been kept in good standing, they want to send me a free gas card. When i asked what the company they are calling from the said Todays Escape plus, I asked for a phone number they gave me 1800 9328939 which i called that number back and it was out of service. PLease advoid this SCAM they are acting like they are affiliated with mastercard.
I have been receiving calls from this number and others, all stating that they are calling to offer me gift cards, gas cards, etc, based on my MC account. I've done some research and found out this is linked to an ad that was advertised in In Touch magazine for a "free" garnet ring. I called to place the order, but c****ed my mind. Unfortunately, they have been calling ever since. If you see an ad in a magazine for "free" jewelry, DO NOT RESPOND. I am now currently pursuing ways to stop these people from harassing me.
I received a call at work from this number , they asked for me by name - and was told me that it was regarding my Visa card from them. They said that they had important information concerning my visa account, company they said that they were from was called Avalon Visa. they had the nerve to try to say that they had the number already from my credit card.I said that I did not know them, and that I was not giving them any info. they said that it was important info about my account, when I confronted her about my so-called account .She ***g up.I TRACKED DOWN THE THE PHONE NUMBER, I TRACKED DOWN THE STATE (MICHIGAN) I JUST TALKED TO THE POLICE IN THE STATE WHERE THIS NUMBER ORIGINATE (MITCHELL) MESSAGE TO AVALON VISA. YOU JUST PICKED THE WRONG PERSON,SO PACK UP YOUR BUSINESS AND CLEAR OUT . I WILL HAVE ALL THE YOUR INFORMATION BEFORE NIGHTFALL. I AM AN EX-PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR.
I received a call at work from this number - they asked for me by name - and was told that it was regarding my Visa card. I asked which Visa card and was told either my debit or check credit card. I asked what company they were from and was told Avalon Visa. I informed the women that I don't have a card from this company.
my roommate answered the phone, and a man asked for me. I picked up the phone and no one was there.
