Multiple calls, randomly throughout the day and until 10:00 at night, including weekends for the past two weeks. When I answer there is a pause and then a hang-up. I have a Capital One credit card but it has a zero balance and I haven't used it for several months; when I have used it I have always paid the balance in full before the due date.

Keeps calling late evenings/weekends - when you'd expect it to be friends/family, especially coming up as a cell phone on caller ID. I have not picked up because I don't know the number. I do have an account with Capital One, but it is current; nothing past due. I can't imagine a legitimate call from them would come at 9 PM from a cell phone...

This number started calling me and leaves no message. For the last two days, they are calling two or three times. I will not answer or call back since I did not know who they are.

Same as some of you, I have no capitol One card and the phone number is on the Do Not Call Registry. This is criminal behavior.

NCO IS CAPITAL ONE BANK'S COLLECTION AGENCY. WHENEVER I AM BEHIND ON MY CAPITAL ONE CREDIT CARD PAYMENT I GET THESE CALLS UNTIL I CATCH UP ON THE PAYMENTS. THEY WILL GO AWAY WHEN ALL PAST DUE PAYMENTS ARE PAID.

The company is NCO Financial and I do not think they are here in the U.S.  Everyone that calls has an extremely thick accent.  They called over 17 times yesterday 9.28.09 and again today.  I spoke to agents both yesterday and today and asked them to stop harassing us.  They have started to contact my husbands parents now.  I have submitted a complaint to our Attorney General's Office and will also be filing a complaint with the FTC, which seems to be the only way to stop this company.

We are receiving approximately five calls daily at all kind of hours from NCO (240) 210-7142. I've answered a couple of times and they are asking for someone named Maria Fernandez. My wife's name is Maria Fernandez. I tried to ask the reason for the call and the caller indicated that they need my wife SSN and date of birth. Definetely, I refused to provide such critical information over the phone. Four days ago after a heated discussion the caller agreed to delete our phone from their calling list indicating that will take place within 48 hours. They are still calling and harrasing us. Please help!

These people keep calling my cell phone and asking for some patricia woman that i've never heard of. i have been getting these calls 4 or 5 times a day for a month even though i have told them they have the wrong number. its been 2 or 3 different people who call. they're ignorant and rude.

NCO CALLS MANY TIMES A DAY, AND I OWE NO ONE ON ANY CR CARD. THEY MADE THE PHONE INOPERABLE, MAKING LOUD BUSY SIGNALS ON MY PHONE LINE.  IF I AM HOME, I JUST QUICKLY HANG UP, AS THEY CALL 4 OR MORE TIMES A DAY.  THEY ARE CALLING 808 744 0812 IN HAWAII.  PERHAPS SOMEONE ELSE HAD THIS NUMBER WHO HAD BAD CREDIT?  HOW CAN I MAKE THEM STOP WAKING ME UP, WITH THEIR CALLS?

Have 10 calls on the ID from this number. Answered today, asked for my mother-in-law. Advised she does not live here. asked for her number. ( no way i was giving that out ) Told her to give me her number and i will have her call if  interested in talking to them. She gave me a number of 800-260-5570 which is NCO Financial Systems, Inc.. I think we should all call it at all times of the day. when they start asking questions we should just hang up.

called this morning asking for someone I didn't know. Very polite and said they would remove my number from the list in 24 hrs. We will see!

These people leave the same message on my answering machine 2 - 3 times a day and it's always the same recording saying to 'please stay on the line for an important message'. It's the same thing if I try to answer too.

The ID shows caller as NCO, called three times today.  I answered last call and they were asking for my wife.  They say would need me to give my wife's SSN and her birthday.  I asked them not to call again.

If I answer an automated voice recording tells me to stay on the line because they have an important message for me....I just hang up.

I keep getting calls from this company on my cell phone asking for a person that I have never heard of.  I tried being nice and explaining that they must have the wrong number and they say that they will remove my number from their records and then about a month later the calls start again.  Today I have had three calls beginning at 8:00AM and I have not been nice at all!!!  I wish I knew what recourse I have.  AT&T told me that they cannot block that number from my line unless I subscribe to a service costing about $5 per month.  Wondering if I should report to the police?

Got 3 calls from them today and we weren't home to answer. Mu husband called them to see why we were getting these stupid calls, got put on hold and a person finally picked up. She asked for his acct # (which he doesn't even have an acct. with them) so he told her he didn't have one and told her that this number keeps calling the house and he wanted to know why. I keep receiving rude phone calls fro this number asking to speak with someone I do not know.  I tell them there is no one by that name living here and they just keep asking to speak with him until I finally hang up.

Yup, I had a feeling this was Capital One, as I do owe them money.I noticed that area code is from Maryland, or wherever, but I was like I don't know anyone around there, so I don't pick up.They do however call numerous times a day, and never leave a message.

They have been calling about 3 times per day since 9/8/09.  They were asking for my sister.  Why would they call me on my WORK cell phone and ask for my sister.  This was the ONE time I answered by accident.  Ever since then, I don't pick up that number since I saved it on my phone named as "DO NOT ANSWER". Also, I went to Do Not Call Registry and registered my work cell number. Maybe it'll help. Once I get fed up, I might have to show them a different side of me.

If I have nothing to do and want to bug this people then I answer the phone. I say 'hello', then they ask for me to which I reply 'who's calling', then they say 'is this Liz' to which I reply 'where are you calling from?' So, we go back and forth for at least 4 times, then I get tire of it and either just quietly hung up or curse at them, lol.  Sometimes is fun to mess with these people.

9/9/09 I received two call within 40 minutes from 240-210-7142 today which I did not answer. I never answer a call if I do not recognize the number. If they want to talk to me, they can leave a message. If they don't leave a message, I go to NEW CONTACTS, list that number as z - (which puts it at the bottom of the contact list)then change the ring tone to NO RING. END OF PROBLEM!

They have called me 6 times a day for the past month, and I've answered almost everytime and inform them I do not have a Capitol One card, nor do I have an interest in opening one. I have one card, which I've had for years, and it's a Citicard and I don't use it. This is ridiculous, and they refuse to tell me why they're calling.

They were wanting someone other than me. Told them truthfully I'm not that person and to take my number off their list. Told them I am also on National and Minnesota Do Not Call Registry. They said it didn't spply to them as "we are not selling anything".

calls frequently regarding balances that are not due. Capital One Card services says that they are not associated with them. Verified 5/509

This comes up as a CELLULAR call  240-210-7142..  Strange that a collection agency,  if that is who it is would call from a cell phone.  I have gotten about 2 or 3 of these calls.. I dont know who it is so I dont answer it.  I dont owe anyone any money either.. Strange....

this company keeps calling me about someone who does not live with me. They are rude and have even called my inlaws and harasses them. I cant believe this is legal. Its a form of harassment.  I wasnt home the last time they called. I m just waiting for them to call again today so i can give them a peice of my mind!!!

It is the collection service for Capitol One Credit Cards. They have foreign accents.
