Scam trying to get your social security number and birthdate. He didnt even have the correct name so we just had fun and kept c****ing the information we gave him to waste his time. TOTAL SCAM - they will claim you owe money but refuse to give you information until you give them all of your private information. Is anyone ****** enough to fall for this we have a credit score over 800.

Anonymous Wanted 4 last digits of social security before disclosing who they are.

Wanted me to call them back but didn't say what they wanted or who they are. I'm not going to call back anybody I don't know cos that just confirms mine is a working number and opens me up to what?

Was called and told they were a debt collector. They wanted me to give the last 4 digits of my social security number, birthdate, and past addresses. I refused, and they told passed me off to another person who asked the same thing. They then gave me a bogus $9,000 debt they said I owed to an apartment complex I have never lived in. Complete scam. Do not give any information to this company.

SLL This is a collection agency. This is for legitimate debts as I was aware of the one item that was on there. They were actually pretty nice about helping me get the information i was looking fro to prove it was a valid debt.

CR I just received a phone call from them. They are a collections agency.They told me I owed *****X amount and I told them that they were wrong and that it had already been paid. The guy yelled at me and told me he's reporting me to the credit reporting company and ***g up on me.

indebt The phone number is from a debt collection agency named FCO. They do not like to reveal the company name so that you will call them back so they can get comfirmation that they are calling the right person. Also they do not like to say the reason they are calling because the information is confidential, and should not be just left on a message. They will call until you call them back. My guess is that you have some debt that is not being paid, if not then you need to clarify it with them. If you do have debt then they can set up payments for you, that's what I did. They will try to make you pay the debt in whole, which is cheaper, but not likely. You just have to make sure that payments are made, you cannot miss one. They are willing to work with you, they just want what is owed to them.

Have rec'd @ least 7 call in 1 day from this #.  S****ing @ 6:30 a.m. pst, ending after 9:00 p.m., weekends included.  The state that is being called, there are consumer laws a***nst some of the practices used by 240-374-5452.

SJ Smith I am repeatedly getting calls to my home phone from various bill collectors to S. Smiths of all types - Stephanie Smith, Sarah Smith, Steven Smith, etc.  No one by those names or any other SSmiths (other than me) at our home number.  I have an almost perfect credit rating, no bad debts, and in the last few months or so somehow I am getting almost daily calls.  Not from the same collectors; this is just one.

Anne Caller left message and as stated by someone else, heavy accent and a lot of background noise. Almost like he is driving a car when calling. But is comes up in a search as a landline in Maryland. Could not understand name or most of the message, but number called from was 240-374-4512. I have been hacked before by this type of collection agency style stuff, so knew right away to Google the number. If they tell you that they are representing an attorney and you have a civil suit a***nst you, do not give them any of your information, get as many details as you can and report them to the Attorney General for whatever state they are calling from.

Karen In the last 4 days they have called 6 times on my cell phone and about as many times on my land line.  (If I don't pick up the land line, they immediately try the cell phone.)  I spoke to the caller one time, but she would not identify herself, her business, or the purpose of her call.  She kept insisting I confirm my personal information first.
