Leave a Commentjust had a call from this #We are not ******, thank god. we blew them off.we do not carry a balance, so why need a lower interest rate!
Caller...heavy accent, very hard to understand, tried 5 times to understand the name he gave me, (still didn't get his name), lotsa background noise, (call centre?), wanted VISA credit card information and interest rates on the card. He also wanted to know how many other cards I had and what the interest rates on them were. Said he was calling from Calgary but caller ID showed 250 980-3438 which is a BC area code. I kept telling the caller that I was not interested but he got quite annoyed that I didn't want to lower my interest rates and kept insisting that I provide him with info. He claimed to be a "Consulting Company" calling people who pay off their credit cards on time and therefore deserve a reduced interest rate, "if interest rates on the cards were 15% or more". He knew my wife's last name and 1st initial and my address so I asked how he got the information. He said from the phone book. I told him to remove our number from their list and not call a***n. I then ***g up.
these folks contacted me today. they claimed to be a company that advocates for lower credit card rates, but it is clearly a scam. they claim to be from orlando florida but this is a ca***ian phonen number...People who receive a call (in Ca***a) from this number should contact (888) 495-8501, Phonebusters, the Ca***ian national agency created to deal with phone scams.
i got a call from this same en***y. the claimed that they are advocating for lower interest rates. they claimed to be from orlando florida but this appears to be a ca***ian area code..
"Jacob" at some call center trying to sell some sort of financial service. I told them to remove my # from their call list. So far, so good.
Try to scam me.
Calls and then ****s up.
They almost had my husband. However, I did a Google search on the phone number 250-980-3438 Ex 299 while my husband was on the phone to them and found that is was a scam. The names given were Tony Adams and Kevin Austin. They also gave a toll free number 1-888-628-9228. The number that showed up on my caller ID was 1-403-648-9228. They are very persistent, even after ****ing up on them and telling them to stop calling they called back within 10 minutes.Should they call you do not give them any information about anything. Tell them to f*ck off and **** up on them.
The call sounded noisy and the guy was with the Asian accent. Said he is from RBC Visa Bank but by unprofessional approach you could say immediately that they are a bunch of criminals. Avoid be questioned just seek answers.
Same experience as others. Wanted my credit card information promising me lower rates. Refused to identify their company. SCAM
i got the call today. soundes like a busy spot but it was a landline. they said they were from my visa mastercard RBC. sounded asisan to me. tried to get numbers i said i dont have any credicards.. i asked them why they were calling from a 250 area code since that was on the other side of teh country and they said how do you know that and i said becuase your number came up on my phone.. he said can you tell me which number and i basically told them to go ***** theirselves and reported it
Got a call from 250-980-3438 telling me they were going to reduce the interest rate on my credit cards - my visa and mastercard. They obviously had no idea if I have a credit card, and if so, which one it is. (They're hoping you'll tell them). When I asked them who they were (several times) he rambled off the name of several banking ins***utions, hoping that I'd recognize one and trust him. WHAT A SCAM! He also told me that he was calling from CCA. I asked him what that was, and he kept repeating CCA. CCA. I finally asked him what those letters stood for and he said Credit Card Advoctes. I told him I was NOT interested and ***g up on him.He had a very thick accent and it was really hard to understand him. There was also lots of talking voices in the background, like if he was in a crowded telemarketing center.I will be reporting this number and adding my phone number to the do not call list.
scam for info
The people on the other end of this line had Indian/****stani accents, and were calling from a very crowded room. They claimed I had earned a lower interest rate on my card, and seemed to be trying to get information from me. People who receive a call (in Ca***a) from this number should contact (888) 495-8501, Phonebusters, the Ca***ian national agency created to deal with phone scams.
They were a group of people from India trying for my credit card numer..F***ed up bunch!!!!DONT TRUST THEM!!
Recieved call asked for me, said they could get my interest rate reduced. Asked for Card info, told them my wife has it in city. He said his name was Mark Dennis,(had an asian accent). His says the company name is C.C.C.A. (Credit Card Consumer Advocate) And also gave phone number. I called back fithteen minutes later and got a busy signal. Entered business name on Google, didn't find a company with that name, or acronym. The acronym doesnt even come close to the Credit card consumer advocate.
Received a call asking for my grandmother (who has alzehiemers!!) She would have unwittingly probably given them the information they were looking for. Thank Goodness I was around when they called...How can I report them the the authorities that be in order to stop these calls???
Called today from them, they were "calling about my visa or mastercard". I said which one? They said whichever one you have. I said who are you, where did you get my number and take me off your list - I do not want telemarketing calls". Unbelievable.
total scam **** up and report phone number to the police and anyone you know.
This is a SCAM!!!! They are trying to steal your credit card information with promises of lowering your interest rates. They will say on your MasterCard and Visa, which is a tip off right there. Your specific bank (or w***ver issued the card) will call you and they [usually] only carry one, therefore they will be working with that card!!! Please be save with phone numbers calling you. Even credit card companies CALLING YOU will not ask for EXP or number on the back. Most times they will not ask for the card number as that is already on their screen (if they are ligit) and then they are confiming your name. Usually this is because they have seen unusually activity on your card. And when you call EXP number or number on the back of the card are not required because the Call Center doesn't need that to deal with your account. PLEASE AVOID THIS NUMBER IT IS A SCAM!!!!
I had the same thing happen. I mean if the credit card company wanted to reduce my rate because I pay off my credit card in full they'd just do it. They would also know the information they are asking for. And they always ask for confirmation question to make sure it's them. Plus they are asking for more then one of your credit cards, this means they are NOT with the card issuing company and they can't possibly be from your credit card company. Also, did a reverse look up and it's a land line in British Columbia, Ca***a it appears to be through Telus. Obviously NOT a REAL call center! THIS IS A SCAM BEWARE!!!
I got a call from this number today. He kept asking me if I had a visa or a mastercard, then asked for my expiration date. When I wouldn't answer he got mad and s****ed rambling about how I'm missing big opportunity and s****ed mentioning every company possible that issues credit cards. When I demanded he tell me the name of my bank or my full name he wished me a good day and ***g up. Definitely a scam. I've been called by my bank before and they have always had some form of security verification / have never demanded information/ always had correct and up to date information.
same thing as above.. it sounded like a really crowded call centre.. they were offering me a lower interest rate. i just ***g up on them. they keep calling.
I don't even have a credit card, and they're trying to talk me into getting one through them......they ONLY need my DOB, my how much $$ I make, and My Social Insurance Number.....Do I really sound that ******????
Sounded like a crowded calling centre in ****stan. . .claimed to be "Expert Consulting Company" calling people who pay on their credit cards on time and therefore deserve a reduced interest rate of prime. They then requested the credit card info for the card I wished to have a reduced interest rate on claiming that they will negotiate a lower interest rate with my credit card company. I hope no one falls for this scam!
I received a call from this number while I was out... it went to my voicemail. They left a msg, lots of noise in the background and giggling
