Leave a CommentI received this check from Minvestment Litigation Escrow Account for $4800.00. I answered an ad on craigs list for a job being a personal****istant. I went through this already with another job. They sent me the check and wanted me to send money to the furniture company for this house that this guy and his wife bought here in Mich. They wanted me to be a housekeeper for them . That time the money was 1800.00 and sent in money orders. I went online. went to two post offices and two banks to check these money orders out. The post offices said they were fake but beware the banks tell you to deposit it and they will hold the funds until it clears. Then what will happen you think it clears, draw a***nst it and still two wks later the bank clears all of your funds, plus overdraft fees and now tells you that the money orders did not clear. Buyer beware this is all fake and be careful of the banks also. They are not your friend.
I also received a check in the mail for 3,580.00-- en***led to a lump sum of 125,000. all i had to do was pay 1,950 for US taxes to be payed directly to the 'tax agent'. ( Mr John Wood) funny how they have made 'many attempts to reach me'. my bill collecters never have a problem finding me.(hummm.... red flag)the check very real-but once cashed it will eventually bounce and YOU will owe all monies back to the bank. The man who answered had an accent, very hard to understand. Mr wood would receive my money and HE WOULD OWE NOTHING!! how could i possibly win a lottery that a never entered. Rhona Scott--(promotion manager) was never around to speak to. If by chance you sent money through western union--stop the check from going through. Call western union let them aware that this is a fraud. call the Ca***a fraud department-- 1888-495-8501. Toronto police 1-416-808-222. Call your BBB. Federal trade commission 1-877-382-4357--(www.ftc.gov)Go to whitepages.com and do a number reverse--it will be a landline number NOT a Business.what a scam, to feed off us hard working people who live from check to check. i was so happy at first thinking about all the the bills i could pay off and the wonderful things i could buy my two beautiful little girls. That heavy weight was lifted just for a moment. glad i looked into this first before running to the bank. Being a single mom is hard enough, but knowing there are heartless people who will do anything to get YOUR money is shameful. i think about the eldery who just might jump into this. Be aware this is a FRAUD!!!!Hope i helped someone--gotta get to bed, back to work in the morning.
I received a letter with a check for $3580.00 stating that I won $125,000.00 and that they sent me the $3580.00 to cover the government taxes. It is a scam when I called the number the man who answered the phone asked for my claim # and when I gave it to him he asked for my name and I said if you have my claim number how come you don't know my name? Well all he did was **** up on me. We called back a***n and asked for "John Smith" since that is the name he is going by and he told us that he was busy and we would have to call back another time.Do not cash this check its a scam.
