Leave a CommentCan someone tell me if this is a legit sub-division of Bank of America? Has anyone contacted Bank of America to verify an over the phone settlements offer?
z
received a call from a "Leah" regarding an account she manages that is not behind in any way... if anything i am ahead by 2 payments?
They called at 5:56 in the morning and woke me up. Who are these people and why are they calling my home that time of morning. When I answered they ***g up
These collection companies are very glad to know that they are harassing people so much that we even post online to complain about it.Since most of them will never collect anyway, it's their way to make you uncomfortable in life by calling you over and over with harassment. The government will do little or nothing about it.Bottom line, do whatever you must do to stop this on your own. You can't depend on anyone to help because they will not help.Once these credit card companies decided to jack their interest rates up through the ceiling, I quit paying them and closed my accounts. I closed accounts oweing about $20,000 and they will never see a penny from me ever a***n.. That is your best defense. Don't ever ever ever pay them, act like their calls don't bother you and **** up immediately when they call without saying anything. Or better yet, talk to them filthy in a perverted ***ual manner like I do for my own amu*****t and entertainment.Bottom line, never agree to or enroll in any of their payment plans. You will never pay off your debt if you do because they are free to jack up your interest rate at anytime regardless of what they might tell you. 1) Do not enroll in any of their payment plans.2) Do not pay them anything...ever.2) **** up0 immediately as soon as they call or talk to them in great length and depth about *** their Mama likes a hard chocolate covered banana stuck up her ***** hole.Yes, I have bad credit rating now but so do millions of others in this economy. I have learned to live very happily without credit cards and other than that, the bad credit rating and these harassing companies have hurt me ZERO. My life has not c****ed in a single way whatsoever...In fact, I am up $20,000 in life that now I don't lose a single second of sleep about. I won, they lost! They brought it on themselves when they jacked up interest rates and also accepted government handouts...which none of them will admit it. I won, they LOST!!!! HAHAHAHA
This # 302-457-8826 called me up threatening to call my neighbors. This is unreal. These people need to be investigated for threatening phone calls like the one I got. My husband and I have been going through some kind of credit card fraud. These credit card company's should not be allowed to harrass people like they do.
I received a call from this # today at my job...they did not leave a message, however, number showed up on my VM ID
Yep, they called me today trying to find my ex-husband whom I haven't spoken to/heard from in 13 years.
I c****ed my cell number and now I keep getting calls for someone who owes them money... I am getting tired of it! I tell them that they have the wrong person, but they do not believe me! How do I make the calls stop?
This is actually a *******ual singles group lookig for members
This actually a *** ****** service.
This is supposedly BOA. JD - please have your daughter file a complaint with the FTC. What they are doing is illegal. They cannot contact relatives, friends or neighbors or even your employer about your debt.Thank goodness I'm going into a debt relief program. I feel like ******ing these vultures!!They waited until 7:45 p.m. to call and then left no message. I called back 5 mins. later and it said they were closed. Talk about harassment.
"Debbi" is trying to collect a debt, knowing you filing bankruptcy. We tried to work so****ing out,(went over 7 years without missing a payment.) This was of no value to her. She cut me off, and covertly threatened to ruin my life by telling everyone we know.
I have spoke to these people very rude and refuse to give out there mailing address.
Call several times per day they do not leave a message
got a call about a supposed neighbor. no idea who they are, but the address they gave is on my street. is there someone i can call as to avoid future calls?
If you are a BoA customer and are really behind on your payments you may get a call from this number. 5 missed payments and you go to pre-charge off and so this is likely a last ditch effort to work so****ing out with you. They will even try to call relatives or neighbors in order to get a hold of you. This may seem extreme, but the reality is that this is a pretty significant issue as you don't want to have your debt charged off. What is surprising is that the folks on the other end of the line are actually friendly and helpful. Do not let this opportunity get past you. Call them back.
Call received today around 12:30PM but no message left. I have already spoke to Bank of America regarding accounts so there would be no reason for the call.
I receive calls (I do not owe money). I am the "relative" of a person they are seeking. You are correct in that they do not ever tell me that this person owes money. They are not looking for the same person each time, though. We have received to date 7 calls from B of A, each one from a different source number, and re: a different B of A with the same first name, different last name, as my husband.
looking for someone with same first name as husband. says we were id'ed as a relative in their "online search"
Person called looking for my daughter, who does not reside with me and actually lives approximately 300 miles away. Stated they were her bank trying to get in touch with her. When I would not give out her phone number they said that they had no other way to get a hold of her. A bank without the customers phone number. Please!!!!
I am not an attorney nor a financial or debt consultant. Just an average Joe with some experience with these folks. This is the credit card service ***nch for Bank of America. They call themselves "Card Services." or "FIA Card Services". It used to be the credit card servicing arm for MBNA but went with the other holdings of MBNA to Bank Of America when BoA bought MBNA a little over a year ago. They are very agressive about debt collection and will call you dozens of times a day as well as call your neighbors, your boss and anyone else they can find a working number for who they think knows you, just in order to get to you. They will search utility records in your area and pull up everyone with your last name (or one near it in spelling) and call them all until they find a relative who knows you. They basicly dare you to prove they broke any FDCPA or FOIC rules in gathering information with which to contact you. I know personally they have used illegal means for obtaining information, but unless your friends and neighbors recognized their phissing efforts at the time of the call and are willing to testify as to exactly what type of responses the caller was trying to elicit from them, or have the presence of mind to tape the call, and you can prove that you suffered material damages from these contact ****ods they used, you won't have much of a chance calling them to account under FDCPA. It is very had to prove phone harrassment without a lot to time and effort on your part and they know that. It is the basis of their complete lack of respect for the law. In the meantime, they will call you from 20 or thirty different numbers out of a dozen or more different call centers around the country. Good luck ignoring them, if you can. If you don't, ask first who they are and who they are calling for. Try to get the exact spelling of the name and address they have and the account number and if possible a SS# for whomever they are trying to contact. In doing that, never give them any other contact information for yourself, except what they have repeated to you over the phone from their records. If it is right, keep you mouth shut. If it is wrong tell them so. You can expect the usual good guy-bad guy treatment during such a call, where sometimes you will be called by a first class **** and another time by a deceptively sweet collector, but it always desolves into the same ****headed, "our informtion is 100% right and you owe us", despite the facts that the SSN they have isn't right, and/or the address isn't right and/or even that your last name is different from that on the account they are trying to collect. These call center people have no ability or incentive to right any wrongs like this, so there is no point in trying to get them to correct anything that is not right. If that is the problem, you are best advised to demand that the discussion move to paper and mail and insist that they not call you a***n about it. Tell them you want them to provide written verification of the account by providing the name and address of the present account owner, the name and address of the original creditor grantor, the original account number and a debit/fine/fee charge and payment history for the original account and any copies of do***ents with the account holder's signature on them, such as applications, charge receipts or other debt instruments. They are supposed to send you this information within 30 days of your request. If they don't they have violated FDCPA. If they do send you so****ing, the chances are it will not comply with all your requests; maybe none of them. So, write a second letter demanding these verifications and in it reiterate this is your second demand for this informaion and enclose a copy of what they sent you pointing out its deficiencies with respect to your demands, then, in writing, reiterat your phone demand that they stop calling you, your mother/***her/boss/neighbor or whomever else they have accosted to get to you. Mail it off certified mail, signature receipt return. From that point on, you might want to talk to an attorney or other professional who has more knowledge than I do about how to best handle your particular situation. You will have the s**** of a good defense if they fail a second time to provide any meaningful verification of the debt, and they often do fail. Good luck.
Bank of America - Card Services. They are calling all of their customers who have *****d positive for ***. It's now standard procedure.
