Scammer plain and simple

I signed up for casting calls online and this number said I was what they were looking for. They sent me a fake check in the mail

me asked for my name then ***g up

Company asking if I needed a car insurance quote even though I'm on the do not call list.

Keen A male called me from this number who sounded very much like he was trying to fake a foreign accent. He asked for someone who does not live here. It sounded like he was trying to make up the name right there on the spot. Also, the name sounded like a joke. When I told him he had the wrong number, it seemed like he was just fine with that. It was like he knew I was going to tell him he had the wrong number, At first, I thought this was just a kid making a prank call. However, now that I see all these comments online, I am seriously wondering what these people are trying to do by calling up and asking for people who do not exist? The caller ID just said "UNAVAILABLE", so I tried to call them back. A message played that said "Thank you for calling the campaign, please leave a message." They did not say what type of campaign or any other info.
