Female caller identified herself with OPTIUM and was there to set an appointment with my doctor. Requested normal protocol used with my medical insurance to identify me. Appointment(s) set but when my husband and I went to our "scheduled" appointment with our doctor, the front desk had no appointments. This number is minorly difficult to find. I called earlier today and the same female answered, acting like our medical appointment desk. Not sure if they are fishing for birth dates ect or if it was a telemarketer...so I'm going to check no.

Debbie The number belongs to a telecommunications company that sells 800 number service to many small companies including several I have ownership in. Any company or even an individual can buy 800 service from this telecommunications company or other similar companies. Google 800 numbers and you will get a huge list of companies offering 800 services. There is no way to know which of****entially thousands of customers of this telecommunications company initiated the call to you. Best guess is few of their customers are sketchy or collection agencies. If they got complaints about companies using their services, they would just terminate the 800 service contract with the company causing the problem. When you call ANY 800 or 888 or 866 etc #, the person and computer at the end of your call is sent your your tel number - even if it is unlisted or called ID blocked. Telecommunications regulations specify that because the company you are calling on an 800 is paying for the inbound call AND not you, they are en***led to know what number called them to verify their bill for the call is correct.I can access the tel # of each and every phone that called my 800 numbers.I can also call out thru my 800. When I call out thru my 800 #s, all you see is the 310-469-7359 number which represents every customer of this telecommunications company. If you have called my 800 #, I can also click on your tel # in my computer log for my inbound calls and call you back with one click. A***n, you will see the 310 number. If you want to keep your number private - never call an 800 number from it. All of the 800 vendors offer their clients electronic logs and access to every number that has called into their 800 number.Hope this helps.
