Leave a CommentThey c****ed their name to Guerrero Howe Custom Media and have begun a new series of spams, and fake magazines Advantage, American Builders Quarterly, Ca***ian Builders Quarterly, Green Building & Design, Hispanic Executive, MARCH, New American Luxury, and Profile.
My company was actually featured in Ca***ian Executive Quarterly in the November/December '09 issue. I was looking up the website to show a colleague, and I came across this site. I'm curious what the previous contributors are basing this "scam" accusation on? So far nothing that warrants a scam has been said. I actually have nothing negative to say about working with this publication. Everything about the process was explained to us up front, including the reason they asked for a list of our suppliers etc., they told us they would be contacting them for advertising, and they did. We had multiple vendors who purchased ads alongside our article and we heard no negative feedback from any of them. I actually ended up ordering reprints of our issue to use at trade shows because we were extremely pleased with how our feature and the issue itself turned out. I find it disheartening that so many people these days are so skeptical that if anyone approaches them they****ume it must be a "scam". Are girl scouts knocking on your doors scam artists too?? And they're actually asking you to buy so****ing! Also, Devon R. and others, how do you know that the positive comments are "fake", could it be that those writers felt compelled to stick up for a company that they had a good experience with, just as I felt the need to do right now? For someone making such harsh accusations, you're masking an****umption as fact, which is just as harmful as a scam. One last note, it's entertaining to me that the previous comments stated that because the publishing house is in Chicago it must be a scam, we're a global market these days people, half of my business is in ****a, glad they don't think I'm a scam artist since I'm calling from Toronto or I'd be out of business! Whocallsme is Gossip in the hen house.
It's a scam. Looks like they've tried to do some damage control on this site by posting fake comments, like the one above by "Dave" who warns a***nst posting "slanderous feedback" and says to "weight your words". Well, how do these words weigh in Dave: BG&H PUBLISHING A.K.A. CA***IAN EXECUTIVE QUARTERLY IS A SCAM. IT IS A TELEMARKETING OPERATION THAT APPEALS TO PEOPLE'S VANITY, CONDUCTS PHONE INTERVIEWS AND PUBLISHES THE INTERVIEW IN A MAGAZINE THAT THEY SELL TO YOU FULL OF OTHER INTERVIEWS WITH OTHER ****ERS. IT'S A NEW TWIST ON THE OLD "POETRY BOOK" SCAM (look it up). THEY ALSO REQUIRE THAT YOU GIVE THEM A LIST OF YOUR SUPPLIERS,****OCIATES AND COMPE***ORS SO THAT THEY CAN CALL THEM FOR INTERVIEWS TOO. Keywords for Google: RIP-OFF SCAM FAKE MAGAZINE BOWEN SCAMMER. Now that's a REAL interview!
Stephen and MikeH, I worked with Dana this past summer as well. She represents a very well-known publishing office and I would like to work with her a***n. Please weigh your words before submitting****entially slanderous feedback. This site is for inquiries, not here-say.
Ihave actually been working with Dana on an editorial feature on our company. I can****ure you both that this is not a scam. I have received a hard copy of the magazine and have since dismissed any reservations on the process. The publishing house is based in Chicago, IL.
Hey Stephen, Dana just called me, too. Got her message on the answering ma****e but won't be calling her back. See also the number 312-447-2370 on this site for more interesting info. Including the fact that this Ca***ian company (Ca***ian Executive Quarterly) appears to be located in Chicago!

Got a call outside normal working hours (hey, we're customer driven, if I'm here I answer the phone) from a nice sounding lady who identified herself as Dana Harkness of Ca***ian Executive Quarterly, asking for our CEO by name and saying that she was doing background research for an upcoming editorial feature on our company. I wasn't familiar with the publication so I did a phone number search on 312-447-2380. Got nothing on that number, but spotted reports of similar calls from the same area code and exc****e. ****** Scammers!
