They call me on August 24, 2010 at 5:45 P.M. ask for me by my first name and I said yes this is her and the caller said Los Angeles county police dept is asking for your support.your not in trouble ehehe..we are calling people to see if you would like to help the police dept. I said yes ask me for my name and address and I gave that information I thought it was like one of my friends that must of given my phone so it was easy for me to given the information . I try to ask a question he kept  talking that was when I knew I was tooken for a fool.I have c****e my phone number so they can't call me anymore. Now I'm worried about this plus call my local police dept. they said we can't do any thing right now. Well all I have to say if they come to my house or do anything  my next job will be to find them if that the last thing i will do in this world.Diamond  Caller: LA FOP LODGE 1

This phone number is calling to do fund raising for the Los Angeles County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #1. I have called the number.  It directs you to a customer service department that can answer questions, help you donate, or anything else related to the FOP. Also, there’s information on www.cafop.org . Plus, you can contact them there with any questions or requests.The FOP is doing a lot of really great things for LA County police officers and the people that call are trying to help them raise money so they can do even more good.

I don't know what to think about this, but oftenly I receive calls from these guys, should I report it to the real l a p d?

Frank It's a fraud and you are one of the perpetrators. This number calls and leaves no message at late hours. Do not give any information out to these callers. There is no Fraternal Order Of The Police in Los Angeles. Do not use their links it takes you to some web page in Washington.

asking for donations for local police, families who have officers who have fallen during duty, they are a charity.  not a scam.

Called Thursday, August 20th at 8:52 p.m. -- my number is unlisted so this is highly suspect.  My theory is this is a fraudulent group that is using a random dialer.
