Jerry This number is a central number (automated operator) for Sempra Energy, the parent company of Southern California Gas Co. and San Diego Gas & Electric.  You would use this number if trying to reach a person or department at either utility but don't know their direct number.  (posted by an employee of SoCalGas)

San Diego Gas and Electric This was a call from my gas company (which is a ***nch of Sempra) providing an automated reminder of my appointment and letting me know that the gas company technician was on his way.

That's wierd I got a call from them too....must be some type of scam...

Sonny Burnett No - it's a collection agency.They're using a scam with the utility company switchboard thing in order to throw people off their scent.

Sonny Burnett It's a collection agency. They called my cell and didn't leave a message.They then called my home phone 10 seconds later and when I answered, they went through the collection agency bit. In my case, it's for a private student loan.

cher got a call twice in one day from this number within 3 minutes, no one says anything...

caller ID says it's Sempra Energy, but when I answer there's no one there and it disconnects. I don't think Sempra would really have a system like that... also they would have no reason to be calling my office. Weird.

RS It's the Gas Company switchboard, it's not a number you can dial into.
