THIS WILL HELP A LOT OF YOU PEOPLE. I found out why i see a + sign in front of some scamming phone numbers. This is what i read about It......I copied this from the internet..,but i did not copy the persons name who wrote this topic about the + number in front of phone numbers. Glad i found this out. it means that someone is calling from outside of a domestic network. Even though you see a “local” or in-country phone number, it’s being routed from outside the country. As others have indicated, +1 means someone is dialing INTO the US from outside the US. It’s the “international version” of a domestic phone number, and you see a US number on the screen. If you answer, and you don’t know who it is, chances are you’ll discover that you’re on the receiving end of some type of robocall. These calls originate outside the US and are routed through servers in another country. These scammers frequently grab a working US number to make you think it’s someone you know, and you’ll be more likely to answer it. Ever see your own number or one very close to it? I still have a Houston phone number, and I see it frequently. The term is “neighbor s****ing robocalls.” Once you answer, THEN you’re on the hook. Whether it’s soliciting an extended warranty for your car, that your SS# has been compromised and you’re going to be arrested, someone wants to talk about your credit card or any other of the ***dreds of thousands of phone scams that s**** with a spiel by someone (usually) with a foreign accent. Best bet: don’t answer it. If it’s an important call, they’ll leave a voice mail, or text. Just make sure your voice mail is up and running and works right. Block the rest, and save the people you want to talk to. If you have an iPhone, blocking means their VMs go straight to a special place in Voice Mail called “blocked calls.” From there, you can listen to them or delete them without listening.
