Leave a CommentA few minutes ago, I had a very strange phone call.A Telemarketer called me, asked for me by name. Then asked for me to logon on my computer to "fix it, so it runs faster". I kept on asking who they were and what they wanted. Their answer "we are calling windows users across the country to fix computers with reported problems". Both the person who called me, and their supervisor (who I asked to speak with, Charlie) were very broken english and refused to tell me where they got my name and number. After trying to get through their bullying of "we need to fix your computer now. S**** doing what we ask you do to". I figured out that they were from http://www.supportonclick.com/ from phone # 347-289-3770 . They were going to 'help' me fix my computer by having me install some simple anti-spam and anti-adware software from their website. Once they fixed the problems, they'll only charge me a small fee. ;-/ Yeah right. . .It felt and sounded VERY wrong. I even ***g up once, and they then called me right back. I even told them that I support windows computers for a living... their response... "we have very qualified technicians to help with any problem, no problem too big".It was very very wrong.Just a warning for others... if someone doesn't know better, they'll likely be ****ed right into their strong-arm tactics.
Got a telephone call that they received a message that my computer was running slow and the detected a virus and I should turn on my computer and they would fix it. they directed to where to type in "logmein" and to put in your e-mail address. They told me they are certified Microsoftonline technicians and their company was "Log Me In." I did that then There foriegn accent and their incidence made me skeptical. They told me to push run and I did not trust them. They then said only after they fixed to my satisfaction would I pay $56. I turned off my computer. I could not get into my computer for the next 30 hours but than finally it opened up. They may locked in somehow. I called Comcast and gave then this telephone number and they told be it was a scam from Nigeria to get your info. I called Microsoft and got a person an explained this and they told me that I had to e-mail them and I tried 4 times only to have the e-mails returned each time not deliverable. Microsoft was no help, they evidently are not interested at all in this type of thing going on.
A few days ago we received a call. Who?
