I just tried calling the number back and I got a message that "all circuits are busy, call back later."
I have been getting calls from this number daily. Today I spoke to them a bit. My ID caller was "IMS" but the company is Silas Financial. The first woman seemed to know my credit card balances but never got to them asking me for personal information. I asked her if there was a fee for this service and she kept saying that that savings I would make from using their service would pay for their work and that I would not be sending them a check directly. I still did not understand this so she put on a supervisor. The supervisor finally said that the service would cost $1500.00 and that it would be charged to one credit card account. She seemed to indicate that this one time fee would last for the life of my cards. She kept saying that even though they were adding the fee to a credit card I would not notice it because of the great reduction of interest they were going to get for me. When I asked why the other person did not tell me about the $1500, she said that she does not want the operator to be concerned about this. While I was on the phone I googled the compnay and found this page. Has anyone used their service and received the benefits they promise? I told the supervisor that I would research the compnay and get back to them....probably not.
Called claiming to be with "IMS" and claiming to be interested in lowering credit card rates. Wanted credit card numbers, actually demanded the numbers to be given over the phone. First clue this is a scam. People only ask for your information over the phone if they are actually trying to commit iden***y theft. Caller would NOT identify himself, instead repeatedly demanded personal info. Second clue this is a scam. Caller kept claiming to be with "IMS", but would NOT identify who/what "IMS" was. Instead, kept demanding credit card numbers. This is very obviously a scam. Caller ID also shows the call as coming from a cellular phone. Nothing about this call/company seems right. SCAM!!! SCAM!!! SCAM!!! SCAM!!!
Caller ID showed the call as "cellular call". Caller would not state his name, but claimed to be "IMS" and wanted to lower credit card rates. Would not identify who/what "IMS" was, but kept demanding said credit card numbers over the phone. This is an obvious scam. Looked up number though Google. According to http://www.ussearch.com, the number is registered to a cell phone in Carbon, Montana. The phone company is listed as Cellco Partnership DBA Verizon. This call was an obvious scam. Probably wanted to steal credit card info to commit iden***y theft.
Has called 3 to 4 times for 3 days asking for me. Calls on a line I don't even own or on.
No, it's not worth it...it's a scam and you know it shill.
Got a call from this number. Turns out it is Siler Financial - the same company discussed in this forum under the phone number 888-292-3421. After reading the comments on that thread I am still not sure what to think. I know that consumer credit counseling (CCC) debt consolidation services result in the "does not pay as agreed" rating on your report with the big three credit reporting agencies, which pretty much wrecks your credit for 10 years -- it comes off after that time. But with the CCC service you pay the counseling company a lump sum once a month and they make the payments to your creditors. With this service, it seems the Siler people perform as a lawyer (for an up-front fee) making a three-way negotiation conference call on your behalf with you and the creditor and then you continue to pay the creditor directly after the creditor has agreed to lower the interest rate and Siler is done. What the guy from Siler told me is that if they cannot get the creditor(s) to lower your interest rate they will refund the fee you paid them to make the calls. But he wanted me to pay them by charging their fee to one of my cards before seeing anything in writing, including that guarantee. I'm now trying to find out if there are any complaints filed with the BBB or Consumer Protection Agency or any lawsuits filed a***nst Siler by people who have paid for their service. Then I will make up my mind. If they can truly and successfully do that "lawyer-style" negotiation for the fee they are charging, it may be worth it.
Call me a minute ago, my phone didn't even ring. No message left.
