I also received a call after posting a home for sale on Craig's List.  They said they work with all sorts of clients who want to buy houses and wanted to know more about the house, how motivated (1-10) I am to sell and how much we owe on it.  I said it was none of his business and he said it is public record so my telling him would just save him time of checking it.  Actually, mortgages are public, but the current amount due is not.  He got huffy when I refused and said if I c****ed my mind to call back.  I don't know if it was a **** who wants to take advantage of people in foreclosure or if it is worse than that.

I advertised a HOUSE for sale on Craigslist.org. This is a COMPANY inquired about buying my house. Asked on a scale of 1-10 how motivated I was to sell, how much I owed on the house and my name. Maybe a SCAMMER...?  Supposedly a guy named JOSH ROY (???) will contact me. I would recommend NOT giving them ANY information.
