Android User They let the phone ring for a while, and when I answered, the lines connected, but the caller didn't speak, then ***g up
Never seen this number before.. they know my name
This****hole is calling businesses on their Toll Free Number in the middle of the night. We ought to hire mercenaries to dispatch these people!
The caller attempted to scam money from me to supposedly support the police. He claimed the police were under attack by BLM and other protestors. He used inflammatory rhetoric and misleading statements to try convince me to that if I did not give money, violent pro*****rs would invade and destroy the (white) suburbs (or wherever I lived). He implied that the police needed more money for crowd control weapons (like rubber bullets, tear gas, sonic cannons, and microwave guns). He said the police and citizens couldn't be safe unless the police were heavily armed, so they needed money. He said that if any new or existing law would further restrict what type and level of force can be used by officers a***nst protestors or a***nst anyone they suspect of wrongdoing. then police officers would quit en masse and those officers remaining would refuse to respond to any calls having to do with demonstrations or protests. He said the they needed money to influence lawmakers so that they could block legislation intended to make police more accountable for police brutality incidents. This "policeman" was attempting to use prejudice and fear to get "donations." Mostly he used racist/xenophobic/etc language to incite fears that if I didn't donate money to him, that the police wouldn't stop the scary protestors from "getting" me. However, as soon as I s****ed asking a few questions about the group he was collecting money for. For example. what group are you representing, how does your group distribute money and resources to help police officers, who decides how the money you collect is distributed? He abruptly ***g up. I search the number that appeared on the caller ID, and I discovered the number was identified as a number that was used by scammers. Someone representing the police would not call from a phone number that has no owner on file, nor would they call from a phone number that has been****ociated with scams/fraud. This scammer uses so****ing familiar, e.g. the fraternal order of police calling for donations, and then adds scary lies to capitalize on conscious and unconscious racial and economic stereotypes. He uses fear to bully victims into donating their money. The scammer is bossy and authoritative. He tries to be intimidating. Don't get fooled by this ****. If you have encountered this scammer, I encourage you to please report the scammer and recount the conversation. Hopefully he can be stopped.

Scam Warning Claims to be Children's Cancer Recovery Fund from Mesa, Arizona. There is no such organization listed on GuideStar, which lists all IRS registered nonprofit organizations. Do not send any "nonprofit", unless they are registered. They are using artificial intelligence callers; they are not real people. Ask the caller a strange question, and see what happens. I was able to speak with a manager after asking the computer several times, and he claimed she was in training, until I told him that was untrue and told him they were using AI. He then c****ed his story and said the person running the system was in training. My opinion: they is a scam. If the organization is registered on GuideStar, it is likely to be real. Certifications rarely mean anything. Be careful.
