I received a call reportedly from someone representing themselves, as an investigator from the Social Security Office. I played along with them for a good half hour before I eventually told the last person that I had been speaking with that I had been playing them, as they were attempting to play me. The person immediately ***g up!!

anonymous This definitely has to be a SCAM. The call is for solicitation of donations for the FLORIDA Highway Patrol but there are a couple of problems: (1) The caller ID says P***nix Arizona. But.....never trust anything in the caller ID anymore. Recent news articles state that most of these callers (scammers) are actually overseas. They can put anything they want into the caller ID. (2) This number is S****ED. In the past year, we have received calls from approx. 20 phone numbers claiming to be soliciting donations for FL Highway Patrol, FL State Police, FL Police fund for widows and children of deceased police, FLorida Firemen****oc, etc. etc. Of the 20 phone numbers, this one makes the 5th one that has been S****ED. Good advice from local authorities: Don't answer the phone. Don't call the number back
