507-855-9647 Call on home phone number slightly after 8am. Man's ***********ed voice, spoke slowly and clearly. Announced we had won $2.5 million and a new Mercedes automobile in a Reader's Digest drawing. Later said we had won second prize. When I pro*****d that we had not had any relationship with Reader's Digest in years he said it did not matter. If we had had a credit card transaction at Wal Mart, K-Mart, a bunch of other merchants IN THE LAST FIFTY YEARS, we would be automatically entered. Asked if we had received a call about this yes****ay or in a few days before and seemed astounded that we had not received such a call. He had my wife's name, spelled correctly-first name is unusual, and our address, spelled correctly-street name unusual. All he needed was $550 in order to cover "local permits". As soon as they received the $500 the $2.5 million and Mercedes would be released. I expressed skepticism and said I would not consider doing so until I had seen all of the details in writing, and any do***ents that would have to be executed. He humored me my listing all the items that should be included in the letter to which I agreed and said I would look them over. That no money would be sent until I knew exactly what it was for, in writing. He ***g up.
