They call me too! From all sorts of numbers. Claiming they are an "officer of the law" with some sort of indian accent and that there will be police officers coming to arrest me with all these bogus charges a***nst me on a phony payday loan that I supposedly had... they even had names of friends that I have previously used as referrences on other things. They've even called me back after I **** up calling me a "b*tch" and "****** lady... that's all you are is a ****** worthless lady" and one even said "i will track you down and kick your a**" I called the FTC and our state's Attorney General and they both said it's a scam and the only thing I can do is c****e my number or **** up as soon as I realize it's them and not to give them money. They also gave me a list of information that would help determine the difference between a real debt collector and a scammer. A debt collector HAS to send you a written notification with in 5 business days of the first contact. Also, a debt collecting agency and officer CANNOT make ANY sort of threats a***nst you whatsoever... not even to garnish wages. If they do so and it is reported, they can receive fines s****ing at $10,000. My husband is in the military so we can't just c****e our phone numbers, there are way too many people we would have to notify, so we contacted our cell phone providers and downloaded a phone number blocking program and add those numbers to the list as they call. They stop calling for a while but eventually find a number that isn't on the list.

Have some fun with them.  I couldn't understand them at all and when I s****ed laughing at them he became irate and s****ed to swear at me, then ***g up.  If it was of anything legal or legitimate they wouldn't do this.  I even called back, same guy anwered but said a different name.  When I just s****ed laughing he s****ed in a***n.  Seriously, I had a great time with them.  So don't be afraid when they call.  I couldn't even understand what they were saying except that a lawsuit was going to be filed a***nst me in New York for some debt.  First thing, I don't have anything in collections.  Second, I've never even been to New York and for a civil suit to be filed it has to be done in the jurisdiction where the contract was signed or within the vicinity.  So a***n, not worries, just laugh at them, say what you want to, nothing will ever come of it.  Just some scammers in India looking to get some money out of you.  If you do talk to them, tell them Greg says*****o.

I got one today from these guys reciting some long business name, trying to make it sound like a division of the government on banking fraud!  Indian accent so heavy I had a hard time even understanding the message.  All threats and if I don't call back, then good luck to me!   Totally bogus scam.

I receved a called from 516-833-3248, stated they are calling about a legal matter they have a***nst me. They are constanly calling my work number, i wish all the scammers will leave hard working people along. Oh yea the guy has an indian accent. Please watch out for these scammers donot give any information to them, they are just predators, preying on innocent people.
