I received the same exact call on 4/29/2010 but from a man named Officer Austin Jones with the Department of Law. He also had a strong middle eastern accent and said that very same thing. I had a friend of mine who works for an attorney look into it for me cause it really freaked me out... She said it was a fraud and I need to report it.
I just recieved a call today, before i even called back i google the number only to find out that these punks were doing this to others. I called the number back and acted like a lawyer and the ***g up the phone. Dont fall for these scammers!!
they called me today too... stating was listed as a reference on a loan app.. and that i was in deep legal trouble... it's a scam
Received a call at work today from officer Jame******ien, of course while at home earlier I received calls from a Brian James, Jeff Jones, and Brian O'Connor(my personal favorite). Funny thing is they all sounded like the same person. He also left me a differen number for a call back on one of his messages it was 424 294 5963. He also claimed to be from the Crime Center of America and Florida Department of investagations
The same exact thing happened to me 04.28.2010 im in Louisville, KY. What state are you in?? I am going to report this locally but I wonder should this be reported Federally.
I received a call today, at my place of employment, from an officer "Jack Dawson" about a case filed a***nst me. He knew all my personal info, including my social sec. #, home address, e-mail address and work address. He read me an "affidavit," explaining to me that I had the option to hire an attorney and risk going to jail, or to settle it out of court over the phone (red flag, of course, when do police officers collect money?). This man had a heavy Middle Eastern accent and s****ed speaking in a threatening matter when I said that I wouldn't settle over the phone and s****ed to question the validity of the phone call. He ***g up on me after claiming that he would "make sure that I would be in serious trouble."I called my local police to file a report, only to hear that they had heard of a similar complaint just a few weeks ago. After coming to the conclusion that this indeed was an attempted scam, I called the number back that was provided to me by "Officer Dawson." I told them that I had filed the report with the police and they were not to contact me any further. The person on the other line just playfully said, "I love you." (Are you kidding me? Who are these idiotic people?!!!)This, by far, is the most ridiculous attempt at a scam that I have ever heard of. I pray that no one actually falls for this and that the "things" behind this get what they deserve.Caller type: ScammerCaller: Officer Jack DawsonCompany: Department of Law and InvestigationCaller ID: 1015
