Leave a CommentWhen I got a person on the phone to tell them to remove my number, they ***g up on me. I have no credit cards, therefor don't need to lower any interest rates.

message stated they could lower my interest rate call to cell with "first call of the day " fee of $1
How do we find out and stop the calls?
It is a fishing scam

Who?
I just received the call too. 6/21 Missed the call, tried calling back but went straight to voicemail.
Call came in at 11:45 a.m., 6/21/10. I didn't answer before the fourth ring. No message. Company must have an automated dialer - this number is not published or known to the public. Have family in Tucson - thought it might be them. My location: southern Illinois.
11:35 central time 6/21 they called me. I'm in southern Illinois. I didn't answer. They left no message. I just straightout refuse to answer any number from out of state like this. I know I don't know anyone who may be calling so why waste time. I too would like to know how they get these cell numbers as mine was recently c****ed. My service is through AT&T. How about anyone else? Who is your service provider? Were all these calls strictly to cells or landlines as well?
I just got a call 5 min back from the same number. It was an automated system message saying this is regarding lowering your interest rates on ur credit card. Consider this as a final notice and press 1 to reduce your interest rates..I just ***g up the phoneThese are spam phone calls so please friends do not answer anything. I still remember i used to get a similar spam phonecall regarding car service.
Just got a call 12:40 pm on 6/21/2010-I'm from the Jersey S****-I called back as well to see who it was and I also received a message that the mailbox was full. How odd.

Got a call today and before I could get to the phone, ***g up. Left no message and when I tried to call back, mailbox was full. I am located in Lakeland, FL
called at 12:15 ET, didn't answer, no voicemail left.NYC Area
The best way to deal with telemarketers of products or services you dont want is to give them what they want. Tell them to hold on while you get the credit card..never come back. They will stay on there thinking they are getting a sale.
From the automated message I got when I answered it's about lowering a current credit card rate. When I pressed 1 to talk to a rep to find out if it's a card I have they're calling in reference to or just a ****** bu***hit one... the lady was extremely rude and was asking about my rates - etc. Anyway, After I asked her to take me off of any lists they have she ***g up on me. I wish I could get back in contact with these people to settle things. Look up the laws in your state and become familiar with them, if a company contacts you after you've asked to be taken off the list they have you on, you can collect money from them, pretty nifty - I've done it a few times after annoying companies continued to call after I've constantly asked them not to verbally and in writing. I guess having an attorney available to me was a good decision after all. Hope this helps.
Just called--I'm showing them in Tucson, AZ--no message left... but it troubles me when calls like this come in on my cell phone (it only began in the past year)--where are they getting my cell number from? I hate it.
* sorry* that was supposed to be 6/21. Same as the above. No voicemail left and callback mailbox is full. I am in Atlanta GA.

I just got one this morning, 6/21. I missed the call but they left no message. I'm located in Tampa, FL.
The caller said his name was Eric. He said his company was Account Services. He said the call was to lower interest rates on my credit card. He had the name of the name on the cell phone account and the number of the cell phone. He asked me several qualifying questions. I asked him the number of the company and where it was located. He refused to give me more information and refused to give me a phone number. I could hear noise in the background that sounded like a boilerroom telephone solicitation operation. When I told him I wasn't going to give him more information, he ***g up.Several weeks ago, I got a call (probably from the same company for the same purpose). I asked that my number be taken off the call list. The caller said it would be done. (I think when you make such a request they put you on a frequent caller list. At least it seems that way.)
