A package from mexico was shipped to me and had contents of over 100K. they wanted to confirm i am not the intended reciepient.

THIS IS A SCAM!!! 100%!!! Do NOT give up your social security number to these pieces of work! Demand they identify themselves. Ask name, badge number, office their calling from, but don't give up your social. ITS A SCAM. take care.
