My spouse and I got this number today at 10 minutes before the banks closing time.   The account is frozen until tuesday so even though my husband  works hard he cannot access the fruits of his labour.  Our theory is that this is happening to alot of people at this time and VanCity is making huge $$$ for this scam.They've got it cleverly covered - a phone call to let you know about the scam they are "protecting you" by freezing the account.   I checked another site that shows a graph of activity on this number - always a sa****ay.

The message from Vancity is a scam.  And Zeddy you should know that really well.

This number is legitimate telling you that your VanCity card may have been illegally swiped.  A recording will tell you to visit your local ***nch with 2 pieces of ID.  Also gives some extra opening hours for PIN c****es only.

It's about card skimming. Your account is frozen until you contact them.  It's legit, though strange they ask you to call a number that isn't on their website contact page. And their message doesn't say who in the household they are calling for. Said they made 400 calls over the weekend. They can also help you at Member Service (604.877.7000 or Toll free within Ca***a or the U.S. 1.888.Vancity), numbers which are on their website.

Just called the number and it's Vancity Credit Union informing me about a cancellation of my ATM card due to some unclaimed security reasons.
