I keep getting calls from this number, and I have already paid my past due amounts for DirecTV. Once, I answered the phone and he repeated my name, I said yes, and then tried to "verify" my address. Instead of verifying the address he spat out to me, I asked him what company was he from. He repeated the company name, but when I asked what kind of company they were, he informed me that he couldn't tell me until I verified my address. I told him I was not willing to readily give out my information unless he was willing to tell me what kind of company I was dealing with. He became very frustrated and rude and ***g up, so I checked online to see what kind of number this was. Do you know of any other companies this number may call for? We have already paid DirecTV, so we shouldn't be getting this call at all. Any information would be very much appreciated.

I received a call today while I was at a school meeting. No message. Same old story. I do not answer calls I do not know the number of.

calls twice a day, always wants details before saying who they are - I of course never give the details, they get angry, and call a***n

I keep getting calls at my work number.  ***ody ever says anything.  They just **** up.  Sometimes they call 4 times in one day.  I finally called the number back and told them to stop calling our business and to take us off their calling list.  They answer as CBA Group, which I had no idea who that was.

calls all day and night 7 to 15 calls. I do not have, nor have I had, DirectTV.

They have now called me 4 times in one day. This is ridiculous. I don't have DirecTV, never did. And now, I can definitely say I never will.

I keep getting called from this number also. It appears that it is DirectTV. I was getting calls from a different number last week that was also DirectTV. I do not have, nor have I had, DirectTV. The annoying thing is that when I did answer, they said "This call is for so-and-so. If you are not so-and-so, **** up." I did. They keep calling back. So.....WHY!? dumb!!

In case anybody needs it or is interested, this is the letter that I sent to DirecTv:You have billed me for early termination fees. I was told by an authorized telephone representative DirectTV that I would not be charged early termination fees if I suspended the account. I relied on that conversation. I am not going to pay this amount. It is not supported by our contract. I have not terminated the service. Further, you did not notify me in advance that I was in danger of being charged this amount.I have learned that a class action suit has been filed on this subject a***nst Direct TV. The attorneys in the case are Schneider, Wallace Cottrell ***yton Konecky LLP.  I will contact Schneider, Wallace Cottrell ***yton Konecky LLP regarding their representing me in this matter in 30 days unless you take this amount off my bill and send me a statement to the effect that you are cancelling my service without charge to me, and that you will not enter derogatory information about me with a credit agency.

DirecTv has a class action suit filed a***nst them for these ridiculous early termination penalties they try to impose on you.  I explained that I'm out of state indefinitely for my job-they told me to place my account on suspension-THEN they told me the suspension expired-THEN they apologized and removed the termination fees and THEN they RE-APPLIED them and referred me to a collection agency. SOOOOO I have written to them advising them that I have asked to be included in the class action suit and they are STILL harrassing me! They are TOTAL dirt bags!

Yes she is right. It is a vilotation of the F.D.C.P.A for them to contact you by phone/mail if you send in a written Cease and Desist. I work for a collection law firm, so of course they stopped calling me. Try it, I promise it will work. If it doesnt, sue them. It's worth it :)

FDCPA: NEXT TIME THEY CALL, GET A NAME AND ADDRESS FOR THE COMPANY. NOTE THE DATE ADN TIME THEY CALL. SEND THEM A LETTER STATING THAT YOU DO NOT WISH TO HAVE ANY FURTHER COMMUNICATION WITH THEIR COMPANY. MAKE SURE TO LIST YOUR NAME AND PHONE NUMBER. BY FEDERAL LAW 95-109 THEY MUST STOP ALL COMMINICATION WITH YOU. MAKE SURE TO MAIL IT TO THEM CERTIFIED MAIL, AND YOU WIL GET A CARD BACK TO PROVE THAT THEY GOT IT AND IT WILL SHOW WHO SIGNED FOR IT. IF THEY DONT STOP CALLING, FILE COMPAINT WITH FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION. GOOD LUCK

I got 2 calls from this number while I was at work in a meeting with my boss. It almost got me in trouble

Glad to see it's not just happening to me!  I'm tired of these people calling my cell phone during the day.

I get calls from both of those numbers... and when I try to call it back, it does not go through.  Thanks for creating this thread... I have Comcast.. HA!  Idiots...

Thank God this isn't just happening to me!  They keep calling me too and I've never even had DirecTV.  I get the number 301-882-9927 all the time on my phone but today I got (609) 373-1951 for the first time.  I never answer.

It is a collection agency. Apparently Direct TV doesn't keep good track of who pays their bills. They keep calling my cell phone and asking for another person. I tell them they got the wrong person/wrong number, but they keep calling and calling and calling.

it's a collection agency - they do stuff for Direct TV for sure - idiots think i owe them money and i don't.
