I have received two spam calls today from Canada - one from Area Code 514 (Montreal) and this one from Ottawa (613). The calls are not subject to the Do Not Call List - just calls originating from The USA are subject to it. However, I've been on that list since it began and it's about as good as toilet paper. Just use your Caller ID and if you don't recognize the number, don't pick up your phone. Spammers rarely leave a message on my voice mail.

This number was probably "spoofed" from a legitimate company by a scamming A** H***. That way, it cannot be traced back to the scam artist.

"Do not call" does not apply to Canada. They are probably really in the US using a Canadian number. That is why they are called scum.

This number calls me numerous times EVERY week without EVER leaving a message, I do NOT EVER answer my phone unless I recognize the number or if they leave me a message, I will call them back...... But they never leave a message so f&$k them! STOP CALLING ME ASSH&$es!!

Had a missed call by this number in the morning hours and used guru. It came back to opinion search. They called back a second time in the afternoon and I answered.....it was live person on the other end. I advised them immediately I was not interested and hung up.

Left a long message that was an automated survey taker in the middle of asking a question and then continually saying "That was not a valid response" and re asking the question.

It was my turn to be bothered by these low lifers! A pox on all of them.

I did not answer this call. doing a trace and filing a complaint against this call number. unwanted soliciting. Name removal, and what company is involved. hopefully we can stop so many anoying calls to what is important. thank you for reading this.

Our phone number is on the "do not call list" but this number has phoned four times in one day, and when you answer, there is no one on the other end of the phone. It is very annoying.

This number phones my home frequently, the caller speaks in a foreign language. I ask them not to phone me again but they do.

Computer generated call. ID said UNAVAILABLE. I don't normally answer, but out of curiosity . . . I never uttered a word, just listened. After about 10 seconds, you hear the background noise, some woman with a raspy voice says she's calling on behalf of Nat'l Grid. I just hung up.

Was called by them Sept 23/08. I called their admin office at 613 230 9109 and asked to be removed from their call list. I was treated politely and quickly, and they said it would take 24 hours. Thank you to Naomi (Apr 13 /07) who gave out this number.

seems to be a research survey company, only thing is I don't live in canada so how am I suposed to help. we just don't answer it when they call except they are calling after 9pm here and waking my kids.

If it's a polling outfit or political canvass they are exempt from Do Not Call so all you can do is ask them to stop calling.

Ever since I registered to vote, I've been getting lots of stupid calls from all sorts of places.  I've tried call blocking, anonymous call rejection, caller ID, etc.  The best solution has been to turn off the ringer, and check my messages when the message light blinks.  Only my friends leave messages.

We had two calls this weekend of Aug.9 and Aug.10.  The number displayed on our phone but there was no name.  The first call was 9:30 on Saturday morning.  They rang through to the answering machine after 3 rings and then hung up (I hate people who do that).  The 2nd time was Sunday morning at 10:00.  We answered but no one spoke right away, so we hung up.  I will NOT wait for an auto-dialer to summon the telemarketer to the phone and will ALWAYS hung up if someone doesn't answer my "hello?" right away.  I shall have to see if this annoying number calls any more.  If they keep it up, I'll transfer the call to my fax and that usually stops them as the auto-dialer takes you off the list of valid phone numbers.  Actually, I recommend doing that for anyone who gets a lot of these types of calls.  We had the fax answering automatically by accident for a couple of weeks (I wondered why we weren't getting calls, LOL) and the number of telemarketing calls died away almost completely.

I do not like receiving calls from this number.  Please have them stop. I am on the Do Not Call list and when I get these annoying calls from the idiot who this number belongs to I just try to ignore.

Got a call from this number today.  Was a lady.  Wanted to speak to my wife (knew her by name).  Told me that my wife is a client of this institution.  Could for privacy reasons not tell which institution.  Will call back since my wife wasn't home.*69 give me the number.  Couldn't find any name and found this site.

I just got a call July 9, 2008 7:24PM I picked up the phone said hello 4 times and all I heard was someone on a keyboard typing then I just hung up. Heres the weirdess thing... I just got connected with Bell new telephone number just yesterday, so how in the hell did these people get the number so fast? Bell Canada don't give a darn about personal information or security all these companies care about is making money. Thing about it people--you sign up for a service or two and befor you know it someone shows up at your door maybe stalk you or rob you. Who are these people? someone knows who they are and is not telling.We live in world where we have no privacy at all. None. I don't know whats going on but there could be number of reasons. I think when they call and we pick up the phone they are tracking the residence maybe keeping information on how many people are living in the home or how many people are been signed up with Bell--then they call and log using voice recognition software to see who answers. Then they monitor to see who lives in the home and then sells marketing information. If anyone else have any theories post it to help others.

calls does not leave message but when you call the number a recorded message says it is an opinion search company in ottawa canada and "don't be alarmed" they are trying to contact someone for a survey and will call another time. I do not want to be contacted by them again and do not wish to participate in the survey. I am on a "no call" list in the US.

My father got a call from this number on his cell phone(Bell is his service provider on cellphone, sattelite, and home phone) asking for me specifically. I'm not sure what to do with this, as he gave them our home number and she said she was going to call me, but never did. It's odd.

Why do these people call my number on Sunday mornings & say nothing when I answer?

They should at least say the name of the organization, and not just the number; I don't answer calls without that information.
