when they call the home number...they can speak on the account if you say your the person they are calling for...When you call in they HAVE to verify two things before they can speak on the account..usually last four of ssn..and first and last name...that protects you...you may have someone call in and pretend to be you and that is a violation of your privacy if they disclose w/o verifying or getting your consent...when they call you they are lead to****ume that the person stating they are the person they are looking for...because A)it is the number that was put on the original docs sent on the account to collections B) they verified this was a number that was attached to your name or ssn...In my personal opinion I need to know more before i get into give my ssn over the phone...they wld have to ver ify so****ing else besides that until i am for sure the account belongs to me! i do not blame you i would definitley investigate or inform them verify some other info first..before I give 1 number of my ssn let alone 4 numbers....

Wow she broke all the laws...and if it was medical she is really toast if you live in certain states medical or not she is fired when your lawyer gets the info to the pres of company..i have seen them walk you out the door child....? though.. when your fiance answered did he state " this is her husband, how can i help you"...or did she ask if he was your husband and he said yes and began to proceed into the account? ...if you don't mind me asking...some things are case by case...and was the call being recorded the tape really helps...

so was it blocked hsve you recieved any more calls? curious to know had that problem but it is soliciting..telemarketing..

yes maam...lol but how ever she really may be telling the truth.. I have accounts that come to my office that have references on the accounts or reference names and numbers..how ever some do look up poss relatives...or****oc. how ever they can only contact you if cannot contact actual debtor..and they cannot harrass you by calling over and over..if you say i do not know where he is have not seen him in years.. there reply should be I will take the number out...sometimes they will say do you know how to get in touch with him can i leave a msg..politely tell them the deal you will not see him *let them know to please take your number off the calling list or account....anymore questions..harrassment fdcpa law violation..

by the way gc services are collections for student loans..majority they have info right...and they do sue..garnish wages as well as taxes..if you call back speak to an anna matthews she is a VERY sweet collector  very reasonable....she helped me with my student loans...

okay when you call a home number you can ask for dtr by law by first name...if you reply this is he..they then have to tell you hi this is joe smo with gcservices...you then will say "gc services?" what is that..they then should state sir if you give me a second to verify your last name as well as your date of birth for security puposes i would be glad to discus this with you...this is when THEY say is your last name smoe..you say yes or no..you say yes..they verify dob...then they may discuss..if they do not verify you are the account holder they cannot speak on the account..Violation of FDCPA law.. (your rights)..FYI..they cannot do anything with you first and last name and dob..and if they are calling out the wrong names and dob..then they prob have the wrong number if they insist it is you tell them to send you docs..and you will review them and get back with you if it belongs to you..Also i see people do the ****up thing ALL the time and 60 days later it is on there credit bur..or they find out a year later there iden***y has been stolen and someone ran up 10000 credit card in there name..they call collection agency CURSING TO high hevean and they get told..well a year ago went sent ltr to address..called number and you refused to speak..sent more letters that did not come back returned soooo....now would you like to discuss this...Just be mindful the person on the otherline may have vital info for you..i know that some collection agencies are scams..ask name of the company (take number call back in) even acronyms you can google or BBB the company..investigate..by law you have 60 days to do it...

that is a***nst the fdcpa law they may not call your cell phone...definitley on an automated dialer..

Got a call this morning from GC Services.  Wouldn't tell me what the call was regarding without me verifying my last name, DOB and last 4 of social.  I told him I wasn't going to provide any information without knowing what the call was about.  He persisted with asking if my SSN last four was ****.  I asked what the call was about and he asked if my DOB was **-**-**.  I asked when his DOB was.  He said it wasn't the DOB that he gave me.  I told him I was as comfortable confirming my information as he was with providing his.  And if he couldn't tell me what the call was about then we couldn't talk.  I thanked him for his time and ***g up.

I received a call today from this number and googled it to see where it was.  They actually called me saying that my ex, from 14 years ago, used me as a character reference on a loan.  When they said his name, I asked where'd they get my number from and the lady said it was the number given to her.  I immediately called her a liar and told her my number was unlisted and no one gave her my number and ***g up.  Is this a collection agency?

Get repeated calls from this number looking for my husbands ex wife who he divorced 10 years ago. They usually **** up. Every once in awhile will ask for her by name, when I state they have the wrong number & to stop calling, they **** up. I called the 800-753-8354 number and explained what is happening. I do not think it if right we are getting HER collection calls. I was told by a supervisor that my number would be "blocked" from receiving anymore calls.

They called me today, after several ****-ups and no messages. My fiance answered today, and gave no info... BUT, without verifying that my fiance even KNEW me, the woman provided him with my FULL NAME, ADDRESS, and SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER! If they're willing to give that kind of info to someone they haven't verified, what would stop them from giving your info to a total stranger?! My lawyer is now involved.

Recieved a call at 8:25 am and caller ID said Operations Division.  614-322-1696.  No one was on the line so I****ume it was an automated dialer.  I called the number back and it rang a long time with no pick up.  I called the 800 753-8354 and they indicated they were calling regarding an application submitted by ********X.  Would not give any details but said they would take my phone off their call list.

I gotta call from these *****s, also looking for someone that doesnt live here. try calling 800-753-8354 to complain. The company is GC services...debt collectors.

I just received a call from these individuals. The girl tried to make me confirm my social. She would not advise what the reason was for this call. She ***g up on me when I told her I would not verify my social and repeated my question of why she was calling. I tried to call the phone number back but ***ody would answer.  I filed a complaint a***nst this company with the BBB. I fully intend to file a lawsuit a***nst them if they call me a***n. If they do, anyone want to join me?

I recieved a call on both my phone numbers today; no one left a message.WhenI called back using *67 before dialing their number, no one answered.

Got 2 calls from them...on 3/3/8 and 3/4/8***?

i also got several calls from this number. it is quiet strange to me.

They haven't been calling me but I did a favor for a friend in january to let her make a payment to GC from my bank account cause she didn't have one set up yet. So she gives me the amount of the payment and I put it in my account and they take it out. Then in the beginning of february I saw another transaction of the same amount from this company when me and my friend specifically told them it was a one time thing. Then she immediately calls them and requests a refund and I was supposed to get it in 5 days. Then it didn't come and she calls a***n then they say 3 days.Of course I didn't get it back. Then I got the number from her to call these people and no one answers. So I think some legal action is going to take place now.!!!!

Called and it did not seem like it ***g up, instead it seemed like an auto dialer, where it connects to agent after predialing. However, it never connected. In wat****g my talk time, the call was in fact connected and minutes accunilating, with no connect to the other end.
