A woman who introduced herself as Mary Marr and a consultant called to complete “due diligence” supposedly about a former coworker. When I pressed her for information about who she was and who she worked for she became very defensive and deflected my questions.

We just got a call from this number.

This is not AMEX. These are impostors phishing for your info. Think "iden***y theft". If you call the number back, the first thing the recording wants is your AMEX card number. If you punch in fifteen 5's, you will be connected with a call center person. If you're like me, you will curse them out, and they end up blocking your number. Touche, ****ycat.
