i just received a call from this number saying they can lower my interest rate. i had recently received a letter in the mail to lower my interest rate so i thought it was regarding that. they asked for my credit card number, exp date, last 4 of SSN and billing zip. like an idiot, i gave them the information and after being placed on hold decided to call amex to confirm this was them. they didn't recognize the number and said it isn't****ociated with them and quickly cancelled my credit card and issued me a new one. when the man returned after placing me on hold i confronted him with what i had learned and he got extremely defensive and i said they were a scam trying to get cc# etc. he kept denying it, trying to transfer my call to their 'financial advisor' and i quickly ***g up
