Got a text msg to call this number right away from a family member. When I called, it was a recored joke. I immediatley hung up but got a new text msg asking me to text back if I like the joke. I did not reply, I read that a reply will charge you 9.99 a month.

I have gotten two from two of my friends saying to call Target. I had to check first. Nothing is free and I am not falling for that crap!

Received a text message on my blackberry from a number I am unfamiliar with. Message read:"Need 2 talk 2 u about stuff that just went down and ur name got brought up don't call me on my cell call me at 631-403-2022 and hurry up." First of all I don't use text messaging. Secondly, I am closer to 50 than 40 so I don't have friends that talk like prepubescent teens. Beware. This message came from 4192962541.

Got a TM frmo this number stating in spanish that "es urgente markame a este numero 16314032014"

I recieved a message from 631-403-2014 in Spanish saying " oiga llamame a este número es urgente" who are those people..

I got a text from 310 936-9308 in spanish saying "Hey necesito que me llames a este numbero 631 403-2014 porque tengo k decirte algo muy importante."  I called the number it was a recording asking for the latest on some spanish soap opera

I was told to call this number and used a land line number to do so- Will I be billed by ATT? At first I thought it was just an obnoxious prank- however everyone else seemed to be getting a laugh out of it... But I decided to look into it further online... Now I see that its been reported a scam- And I am fully prepared pursue all legal actions as necessary. I was not presented with  any information that would indicate any contractual obligation or agreement. It's not a wireless service I used to call it. Call 631-403-2022, only 500 callers can get this so call right away."Naturally I did the web investigating first and its hard to weed through all the B.S that people put up on interwebs about this number.  So here's the truth about it.  It's a prank which your friend has either told you about or texted to you.  They want to see if you are paying attention.  The recording:"How to keep an idiot entertained" repeats over and over, I heard it once smiled and hung up.  I'm finding that others have held on for over a minute and recieved a different message saying "We've successfully kept an idiot entertained!"  Someone should add this to the Wikipedia page started under "How to keep an idiot entertained"

I'm from Texas and I just got a text from my friend telling me to call this number to get a $250 Best Buy Gift card as well. When it comes down to it, Best Buy would not do something along the lines of giving away that much money through a chain text so if you call in hopes of winning then perhaps you deserve to get charged extra on your phone bill. Honestly, lets use some common sense.

i got the best buy one...from one of my "friends" through a text...i was exiting out, or so i thought and realized i called it. i never call these things. i hung up and got right on here to check it out, found what has already been written, and called my carrier immediately to let them know what happened. they are being great about it as long as you did not mean to dial it. she said that some companies you dont even need to respond to. that once the text is sent, you dont even have to look at the text and they can start charges you. she said she sees it all the time. im just glad they are working with me.

I got the number when I had just given my number to a friend and she said she had texted mem the number given looked suspicious so I googled it. And it had a new york extension whichshe had never lived in so I'm glad I didn't call it.

I got the call and was charged the $9.99 on my cell phone bill. I called US Cellular and they removed the charge and stopped it from showing up anymore. I got it from my cousin, but she did not send it, I called her and asked her.

I received this text from my brothers contact in my phone. That some stuff went down last night and my name got brought up and his phone was going dead and I needed to call him at 631-403-2022. Luckally I did not call I looked the number up first. HOW IN THE #@*% DID THEY SEND IT FROM ONE OF MY CONTACTS????
