Leave a CommentI got a call from this number saying I had won a bridal package and trip from Chef World Inc. They said both my fiance and I had to be there but they would save the package since we couldn't go tonight. After doing more research I realized that it was a scam because the number came up as a variety of names, Chef World Inc was just one.
They called me three times (two different numbers) and left me two voicemails, one from each phone number. Numbers: 631-470-7338 / 631-470-6339. My iPhone automatically tells me its a call from NY, so it confirms everyone's su****ions about their location. The first voicemail was obviously from some call-center because I could hear several ladies speaking in the background, as if pit****g some sales. The speaker was a woman who appeared to be unaware (or was she?) that she was leaving me a voicemail, as she seemed to be carrying on a conversation with herself or someone near by. I couldn't understand anything except, "Hello?" and "Well, works for her", followed by a **** up. She was rather obnoxious and sarcastic sounding. The second voicemail (left only 3 minutes later) was from a different woman's voice. She says her name is Ardine(?) and that she is with ChefWorld. She says she's trying to reach me about a bridal package and I have been selected from a bridal drawing. She says she has some gifts on hold for me for a limited time and to call her at 631-271-2025 Ext. 8670(?). Her accent is a little hard to understand, but at least her voice was pleasant, unlike the previous caller. I did register at David's Bridal LAST DECEMBER! I have received multiple scam calls since then, but this is the first I have received for almost 3 months now. It is odd that this Chef World would be calling me now and not sooner, so I wonder if they got my information from another source instead. I have not been to any showcases or conventions, etc, but I did register for my wedding gifts at Bed, Bath & Beyond, and Target earlier this month. I also bought my invitations from MagnetStreetcom/wedding about two weeks ago. So any of those sources could of leaked my info. Needless to say, I don't plan to call them back. Even if it were legit, I don't need any cookware or a free cruise.
AHH i got a number from 6314707341!! I spoke with a lady named sharon and jenetta. i totally believed it :'( my fiance and i were about to go to the meeting tonight, but my cousin (who is also engaged) informed me to do research on it because she actually went to one of those and had her fill out paperwork. good thing i found this website. thanks ladies! sad thing...i thought (and everyone we told) we had really won so****ing great as i was beginning to stress about planning our wedding. i had no clue they had these kind of scams!
Thanks for the advice ladies. I just got the call when I googled the number which led me here. I just registered online with Davids Bridal yes****ay and got a call from cooks world. My fiancé was so excited. Ha. Glad I didn't call. Thanks!
I got the same call from RPLI Inc. The women calling was Anna and said I won so****ing. When I tried to call the number she left on her message the ext. she gave was not active. Then when I called the actual number she called me from it rang and rang. A lady picked up and then quickly ***g up... all a little shady. I called back and it went right to a voicemail that just says I reached a bridal dept. no company name or anything. Unaware of it being a scam at the time, I left my info. for her to call me back. Thank you everyone for your posts or else who knows how far it would have gotten. There should be a way to turn these people in if they are truly stealing money from people. It's awful. Here are the two numbers of theirs that I have - 631-470-7341 and 631-271-2025 ext 5014.
I talked to someone for 5 minutes and felt so****ing was weird. I said you know what, I am not interested. Now I am checking the site and it is for sure a SCAM!!! Thank you all for posting this!!!
I got this same phone call today from Joanna , telling me I won too , I asked what the catch was they said nothing thank you for letting me in on this scam, I would have gone tommorrow night.
I also got a call her name was Sharon. I didnt call back thanks to you ladies. You saved me a lot of hassle
I received this call on 5/16/10. I didn't recognize the phone number but did listen to the voicmail. It was from Kristina. Several months ago I filled out a card but can't remember where or what company was sponsoring it. Nonetheless, I figured it was a scam. Thanks for the info from everyone else to comfirm my su****ions.
I just want to set the record straight. I got a call from this same number from a company called Chef World. They said they got my name from a Bridal Show that I attended and that I was entered into a drawing in where me and my fiance won a trip for 2 for 3 days/2nights to over 20 different locations. Well, I was one of the people who actually took the time to go to this "presentation" and what I'm about to tell you is the up-most truth. I got to the hotel and was greeted by a man saying he was going to be doing the presentation. We went to the ballroom with him (I'm not going to state his name), where we put down our "verification code" and filled out a survey. They never asked for our ID which is the first sign so****ing was up. After we filled out the survey, 10-15 min later he began the demonstration. He stated all of the necessary facts about how if we didn't want to watch we could leave and take our prize. We decided to stay. He went into this huge spiel about how their cookware is the safest and how people today cook their food in a dangerous way that is harmful , like in the microwave. Then after a long talk he cooked some food (in which i was leary to eat). Then after his long presentation, which was pretty entertaining, he gave us a booklet and told us to pick from one of the packages that we wanted to buy, if we wanted to buy. The ringer was if you bought a package you get 50% off for life from chef world and if you didn't buy you could never buy. The real kicker was if you bought a package you got a cruise FREE! Well we declined and left with our prize and when we got home we looked up Chef world. So****ing we should have done in the beginning. Turns out with all of my research I found out that Chef World Inc., used to be or still is Royal Prestige, American Prestige and several other health food systems companies. I found out that the marketing company ODENZA that you claim your trip from has a C- on the BBB page and many people have complained and the place that is giving away the trip VIP vacations in NY is also the same address as ChefworldInc in Monroe, NY which i thought was funny. When i research I do it to the highest level. Here are all of the websites i thought were similar to chefworldinc.:www.royalprestige.comwww.chefowlrdinc.comwww.chefworldbride.comwww.americanprestige.comwww.21stcenturyrp.comwww.gatewaybride.comwww.rpofkc.comwww.rphealthspectrum.comwww.cookworldinc.comwww.rpbridalconcepts.comwww.rpbridal.comwww.cookworldusa.comI'm not saying their all affiliated im just saying its a mere coincidence they are similar. Tell me what you think. I'm sure you get the products if you buy them and they're legit but i'm also sure they're probably ovver priced. So if you get a call and you're considering going do a little research first because my day was wasted. Well, I did find it mildly entertaining. I have other details if anyone is interested. Also I thought it was funny that their facebook and twitter have suddenly disappeared over the past week. Interesting.
I just got a call, and googled it. The lady named JoAnna contacted me too. So weird. Glad I found this site. Defin***ely not calling them back. I just signed up on the knot. Maybe it came from there.
Yeah, I got a call from the same number and person claiming the same things... The only place I had put my info in, was at David's bridal when I went there to take a look on some dresses and I also subscribed at the site to win a wedding gown... So, I guess they sold my info... That ****s! I'm glad I googled it and found out that it's a scam before calling this number back. Thanks girls! :)

Thank you both for your posts, I got a voicemail message from this number and the message said my name was pulled from a drawing. I have never been to Dave's Bridal but I did sign up for a Bridal Event at Ridgefield Regency located West Orange, NJ. Here's the thing I never showed up to that event and I think my number may have been given out by a website I signed up to receive
Thanks Ashlyn! I was so surprised when 21st Century called me and congratulates on my engagement! Then she said I was randomly selected in a lucky draw and have won a cruise trip to *somewhere* blah blah blah... I said I was busy and I would call her back. Then I googled the caller number and found that there were quite a lot of people complained about SCAM of this company. When I recall, the ONLY list that I had ever subscribe about wedding and wedding gown was David's Bridal!!! I'm wondering whether DB is allowed to do so???
"Lucy" called me from 21 century rp bridals saying that I had won a random drawing in the state of california. I was s****d! She said I had won a trip for me and my fiance to any destination but I would have to react fast in order to claim my prize. She asked if I had a piece of paper and a pen ready but I informed her that I was driving. She said she would call back and leave a message and she did. I told my mom that I had won a cruize through a random drawing and she replied "***ny, you aren't that lucky"- thanks mom! So my gut feeling was to type the number into google and magically it appeared- angry people were posting on that same number! I think it was DAVIDS BRIDAL because many people have signed up with them and have received calls from "21 century rp brides". It's a huge scam, don't fall for it. I really really hope they call me back so I can give them a piece of my mind :)
These people report that they are from 21 century rp brides- IT'S A SCAM!!! They trap you in by saying that you were randomly selected in a drawing and that you won a cruize for you and your fiance. BE AWARE, it's boogus! They tell you in order for you to claim your prize you must promptly go to a meetin with your fiance and listen to a 90 minute seminar (they sell****s and pans and ****a which most newly weds need). Then they say you need to put a deposit down for the air fair, and the only days you can go on the cruises are Mondays-Wednesdays. Most of the time they are blocked out. They get your credit card number and charge huge amounts which are undetecte until later when it's too late. DAVIDS BRIDAL IS TO BLAME- THEY SELL CUSTOMERS INFORMATION.
They called me at 9:30 last night and left a message that I had won a wedding package that I had to claim within 48 hours. I couldn't understand the name of the company she said she was with, but I'm sure it's not legit.
