The calls are from the Express News.  Customer Service Department at (210) 250-2000, (800) 456-7411.  I called to have my phone number removed from their call list.  Said it would take 24 hours.  Told them I have a pay as you go phone and wanted to bill them for the 18 cents a minute I pay for the call.  They said they have no procedure for that.  Asked for who is in charge.  Told their Marketing Director, Paul Kutzik is responsible and will have him give me a call.  His direct number is 210-250-2144.  If people want to stop these calls they should call Paul.

Called at 9:57 AM on a Sa****ay morning, welcoming us back as Seattle Times and/or Seattle PI subscribers. I informed the caller that we (including my wife, who also answered the call) had not subcribed. His reply was to offer us an opportunity to do so. I told him that we are not interested. He replied with "How can you know that?", presuming I suppose that he could entice me with a good price. I repeated in a firmer voice, "We are not interested -- period." He ended the call politely and ***g up.The caller ID identified the caller as "Local News" though Seattle is a three hour drive over two mountain p***** from our house, and the place from which the call was made (Minnesota) over half way across the United States. This, in my opinion, is a deceptive trick to get people to answer. Also, we have never voluntarily subscribed to the Seattle Times, though we began receiving daily issues a couple of years ago without our consent and were billed for them. We were able to clear that up but apparently are listed in their records as past subsribers.

Didn't answer but they have called in the pass about a newspaper subscription. They called my cell phone so I set the number to be recognized by the name "**** off". That way when they call a***n I’m not surprised buy a weird number and know what to say if I decide to answer.

Received a call back from this number.  They are a telemarketing service contracted by the Journal to contacting customers who had subscripted to the Journal in the past and have cancelled their subscriptions.  They are calling to get your business back and to offer discounted rates.

Received a call on my cell phone this morning.  Unfortunately I wasn't able to get to my phone before they ***g up.  No message was left on my voice mail.  Called the number back and was asked to leave my name and number.  Company information was not provided on the voice mail.  If they call back I will definitely answer.

They called 3 times and left no message. On 4th call I took the call after checking this site. They asked if I wanted to subscribe to my local newspaper. I told them no and to take me off their list. No callbacks yet.

this # has been calling me for the past 3 weeks but they do leave a message saying name is drew baker caller id says 651-256-6181 messages left says to call him at 651-256-6181 tried calling both numbers private but it says that numbers wont accept private numbers.  I haven't tried calling and speaking but his messages are getting more demanding that I call him back.  Today he said I haven't heard from you make sure you call me back its after 4:30 and I know you should be home from work so make sure call me back and when I called information numbers are not listed and how would he know when I work and when I don't and somehow he got my cell # too I'm getting calls on both home and cell also now calls private. doesnt seem right to me

I get phone calls from this number 2-3 times daily.  If I answer it they **** up.  They never leave a message.

I have received 8 phone calls to my cell phone from this number within the last 2 weeks.  Since I did not recognize the number, I did not answer any of the calls.  The caller did not leave a voice mail and when I tried to call back from my office landline phone, I received the same recording.

i guess i am the first one in october. it would come up as minnesota on my cellphone, so i didn't answer it. only the first time and no one said anything. 3 calls since october 2nd from this number. also 4 'unavailable' calls in the same time frame. newspapers huh? i subscribed to the local paper at the end of semptember. i cancelled after the first call for unrelated. i wonder if you can have your phone company block a number. i'm waiting for someone to post so****ing about going off the deepend after months of calls from this number. with no one on the other end, they finally just snap. some of us sound like we might be headed that way.

Call my home several times, call them back got an answer ma****e told them that if they will call back a***n I will report them to Police.

do not confuse this number w/American Medical Response (AMR), which is a private ambulance company.  This AMR is http://www.amrresearch.com/, which provides 'subscription advisory services'.  I did not get an answer when I called them back today after they showed up on caller id.

I keep getting these calls and it is really annoying.  They call when I am at work, my cell number, so I can not answer my phone when at work.  I want to be able to answer to tell them to take me off the list.  But from what I have seen here, that does not seem to work.  I keep getting other numbers that call me as well, I am wondering if they are all connected.  I don't owe anything to collection agencies, not in collections, so I know that is not it.  It is really annoying.

On my caller-ID box I've noticed three calls from this number in the last few days. I wasn't home when they called, so didn't answer.... no message was left on my voice mail. I came to this site to see if I could glean any info about them. From what I've read here, I****ume they are not worth answering should they call a***n.

This is a telemarketing company that newspapers contract to call past subscribers. They have been calling me for a year, on and off, ever since I canceled my subscription to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. I have told them repeatedly that I got married and do get the paper at my new home, and I have begged them to take my number off the list, but the calls continue to come through (to my cell phone, which is especially annoying.) I just got another call. I have to answer it and continue to insist that they take me off the list, I guess.

got to the phone to answer but no one there *69'd the number and this is the number we got googled the number. no caller ID but our number is unlisted and unpublished.

I have been getting constant calls from this number. Never leaves a message. Sometimes it comes up blank on my caller ID and sometimes says Minnesota call. When I looked it up in smartpages.com, it came up as origin Twin Cities, MN, but, no***ays that means nothing.

I received calls from them as well saying that I was receiving the Houston Chronicle on Sundays which I was not and asked me to upgrade to some online deal.  Called repeatedly.

I received a call from 651-256-6181 they just ***g up on me. and then i called back and it asked me to leave a message. never was able to get the name of the company.

I received a call from this number tonight.  They said that I owed 11.00 on my newspaper subscription.  Thing is, I do not receive a newspaper any longer and have not for two months, and it was a pre-paid subscription, so there was no balance at all.  When I questioned *john* he put the phone down for two seconds then came back on and said, "Oh I just spoke to supervisor....* Okay, for two seconds maybe lol.  Anyway, not sure if this is a scam or not, but I am calling the newspaper tomorrow to see if they know anything.
