he called the bank pretending to be me, had my wifes name and SS#, he says je just wanted my balance.. ya right, thankfully the bank didnt bite

He called my bank wanting my account balance, had my SS# and my Wifes name, thankfully they didn't give him the info, he actually called twice and asked a different agent at the bank the same questions.

I got a call from this number and the guy was Eastern Indian and he told me my card on file was expired and my quickbooks will stop working .. well for a s****er my QB account is not taken out by a credit card. I'm going to put a fraud alert in on this guy.

I’ve order a necklace from Philo Prints UAE and they said I will received a confirmation from their team. Someone called using this number +1 (661) 748-0240 , Bakersfield, CA but I didn’t answer as it looks dodgy to me. Then I message back to messenger saying call tomorrow but they keep insisting to answer the call from their team. The next call it says unknown number.

Didn’t answer but they called 3 times in a row and They called to an Indonesian local number.

As a previous person said, this is a generic Skype number. Anyone using Skype for a phone call can use this number. It could be spam. The caller could be anyone. In my case, it was my friend.

They simply asked if my name was [correct first then last name] I confirmed then they ***g up.

Was told it was Microsoft and when I said I don’t own a computer they immediately became rude and wanted to know how Microsoft had an iOS address in my name LOL I have not owned a computer since 2007

Frank Smith I have recieved several calls from 661-748-0240 the caller tells me that he is looking a person with the same last name as I but a different first name. I have tried to reverse call the number but i'm told it's not a working number.

For Real POF I do not have a Skype account and I don't know if Skype numbers are different then cell #s. There is a guy on POF using this number 6617480240. Wondering if this is the guy scamming. I only just s****ed talking to him I don't know how long he has had this number.

I got a call today at noon time M 12/5/15 but was not able to answer it. When I did approach my phone, the caller ID only listed it as a "skype caller". Knowing that a cousin of mine may possibly have that area code number and that I haven't heard from my aunt in quite awhile, I was concerned that that may have been my cousin trying to contact me to tell me that so****ing had happened to her. I sure hope that's not the case. Concerned, I returned the call just to hear "sorry, this call cannot be completed as dialed because this is a skype caller" or so****ing to that effect. Much to my relief, thanks to Been Verified and giving me some feedback on this 661 number, I see that it wasn't my cousin trying to reach me after all. If I should get a call from that number a***n, I will approach it with caution and if it's what all the previous comments say it is, then I will **** up on them. Amazing how these calls can still make their way into our phones even though many of us, myself included, have many times registered our land and cell phones on the DO NOT CALL Registry!! 1-888-382-1222 TTY 1-866-290-4236 ww.donotcall.gov. COULD NOT GET MY MONEY BACK BECAUSE THEY TOLD THE CREDIT CARD CO THAT I AGREED THAT ALL THE WORK WAS DONE (THIS BEFORE I SIGNED A ONE YEAR AGREEMENT FOR ANTI VIRUS SECURITY.) WHAT A FOOL WAS I. These ***** pigs used to call us several times several months ago but we stopped answering calls with Unknown Name, Private Caller, etc., etc., etc. These pigs would sometimes call @ 4:00 am, 2:00 am, and leave a message to return their call which we never did. Then the calls stopped so we thought one ******, nincom**** ***** off the list of these worthless calls. But the *****s have s****ed calling back. Called @ 5:40 pm on 11/3, 10:18 am on 11/4. Of course, they don't leave a message because they think we are as ****** as they are and will try to call their ****** skype call !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the **** we have to go thru every day as business owners with the phone line that we have to pay for each month to AT&T !!!!!!!!!! And to think NSA is so worried about Americans trolling thru the internet - LOL

Lloydine This guy called me back a***n and wanted me to give him access to my computer saying that my computer is to slow, like I didn't already know that, they wanted to do maintenance on it. if you are ever asked to go to www.teaamviewer.com don't do it, that's how they get control of your computer and the only way to get them off is to turn it off at the tower.

Lloydine They called my cell today and said that they owed me $284 dollars because I paid for a service on windows and they were discontinuing windows service, I could get my car fixed I thought. I gave them the information they asked for and they took over my computer and signed me and several other people up for Skype. a**** other things, I tried to take back control of my computer but couldn't, I finally had to turn it off, they quickly called me back and tried to get me to turn it back on. I told him that I didn't want Skype and that I had already called my bank and they cancelled all of the Skype accounts, He ***g up on me and I quickly ran malware bytes on my computer. I wish that I had checked this site before answering their call.

joe this is a scam. they tried to get my mother to post bond for her granddaughter supposedly under arrest in New York.

With all of these people getting harassed by this number and in all kinds of different ways I have a feeling there is so****ing MUCH more sinister going on. My husband did not answer this call but the caller left a weird message. It was mostly noise, like someone ****ing a hammer close to the mouthpiece then silence then a weird male sounding voice said so****ing that sounded like "Ma Humm". When my husband listened to the voicemail on speaker, he said that he got a very painful shock down his arm. W***ver is doing this may be sending us harmful frequencies kind of like they do in mind control experiments. BE AWARE! WAKE UP PEOPLE, WE MAY BE LIVING IN A REAL MATRIX. LOOK IT UP ON YOUTUBE.

ANDROID USER Answered the call and he tried to tell me that I owed money on an old bill, and said I owed over $1600.00. He never gave his name, but claimed he was an Attorney and tried to make it sound official by adding that this call may be recorded . When I said no that's not correct he said then you are disputing the charge and he then asked me if I wanted him to send me this information to my address, at this point I was su****ious enough to tell him NO. He then got off the phone quickly without getting or giving any additional info. If you get a call from this #, report it!

SUSAN The call that registered as this telephone # from our Caller ID reads "Elite , Geek1". We received four calls today. These were first time calls by this name, with no message left on our voice mail. However, we have received calls that register as "Skype Caller" from 661-748-0240. Typical of scam callers, no message is left. We never pick up our landline, even when we are home, and we leave our cell phones off.

Called my close friend and bothered her saying she was put on a website for a mature dominant male. She then went "all *****fest" on them.

my mom got a skype call, pretending to be my daughter, ie. her granddaughter. This person said she was in trouble and needed money. my mom knew it wasn't her granddaughter and ***g up. Beware of this number.
