This is a cell phone not a landline?

This number came up on a text to my daughter. It was after her friend's ***her s****ed messaging her on social media. She blocked him. Then she s****ed getting weird texts from different un identified numbers. This was one of them. We believe it came from Derek Anthony.

Told me he worked for HP in the printer division. He was promoted from India to NV office. Then he took me to a website to by Microsoft software. He logged into my computer. I c****ed all passwords after I realized this was not a real company. He got no money, asked for a check. I said I would give him a cc instead. As he when on nothing sounded right. BEWARE

I received two calls from this number. Did not leave a message either time. Been Verified says this is an inactive number which is strange since it was active at least twice yes****ay.

They get some of your personal information, say they're offering quotes on insurance then try to verify your address, phone, bank and/or credit card information! DO NOT****IST IN ANY WAY!!! This is merely a tactic to try and get you to give up your personal information. Steer clear of these calls.
