Caller asked for my son. "This is his mother, he's at work. May I ask who's calling " She said she couldn't divulge that information and for him to call back. I explained that I handle all of his finances due to his learning disability. She insisted that he call I said Good Luck with that and hung up

Ty I have received a call from this number at my office phone every few days over the past month. I have never answered it because I had great sites like this to quickly look up the phone number and determine that it is a spammer. They never leave a message. So I can't comment on what they would say if I picked up the phone. But yes, obviously a spammer.
Anonymous Caller referred to himself as Bradley Hill of University of Northern Iowa. Funny Didn't know Iowa shared Charlotte's area code. Asked for the CEO by name. Didn't want to leave a msg since he was about to go into a meeting himself. Apparently didn't plan on talking long to the top guy.

Anonymous, Atlanta, GA Based on the little information I could find on this "unheard of" company. Their one of those companies telemarketing sales companies that operates like a chameleon and not in a good way. They're attempting to be effective by fitting in with their targeted market and potential business partners. So they'll claim to be from the Port Authority if your business is heavily associated with such industry. If you're associated with universities then they claim to work for your biggest account. If we not new employees we should all know our contacts especially our large accounts and be familiar with area codes and phone numbers. It appears these individuals are trying to obtain information that one would find in a database or mailing of some sort. I own my own business and I've done extensive research over the years of business development, marketing, and I work primarily with colleges and universities which perhaps is why they called me. But I can spot bad business a mile away.....they're really doing nothing illegal (and I say that with caution) they're simply not being forthright about their business practices and the information being requested.Clearly they're not bright enough to even change their phone number on a regular basis so they're not a smart company and all calls tie into one Charlotte, NC which is probably some where in Kansas. When in doubt -- say no "thank you" and hang up, but write down the phone number for future reference.
Michael M Called asked for owner and name. Said he was from UCLA and UCLA is an account of ours. He was lucky in his fable. Foolishly gave it.... feel real dumb.Called back received "Publishing company and respondent said he was a switchboard in NYC.
John called wanted president of companies name. Also wanted to know about partners or husband/wife of president? when I tried to take a message or get information they hung up. Returned call is a publications, couldn't contact original caller.
Dan 704 280 8601 Calls daily, and hangs up. I call back get Publications. Woman answering has no clue who she works for but answers the phone. Knows nothing.
Rita Just got a phone call from this number, and someone claiming to be from the Port Authority (who my company does a lot of business with) asked the owner's name. I told him that I found it highly unusual that a person claiming to be from a company who does a lot of business with us would not know the name of the president of the company. When I asked why he was calling from NC, he said that it was his cell phone. When I offered to take his name and number and have the president call him back, he got indignant and said that he would check with his coworkers for the president's name and call back. He kept saying, "Why can't you just tell me the president's name?" If they're trying to sell something, they are going about it the wrong way. Anyone who is doing legitimate business will gladly identify themselves and the company they work for. Of course, this guy did give a name and a company. He must not have been counting on the fact that we already do a lot of business with the organization he used. He sure did get nasty at the end of the conversation!
Angie A person who identified herself as Jessica Prescott called and stated she was with one our local county government offices and asked for the owner by name. Turns out, she was selling advertising. She then called back asking for our address so she could send a fax. Hung up on me when I refused to give it to her.
MaryAnn I got a strange call from someone at this company as well. He asked about owners, and when I told him I was an owner he wanted to know if I had partners. I had to ask him who he was and why he wanted to know. He indicated he was working for a county in GA where we are doing some work and was updating some records. I told him my son and my husband were partners, and he asked their names. After hanging up, I was suspicious, so I called the number on caller ID. I got the same "publications" identification, and the woman said it was a message center. I told her I wanted to talk with a guy named Dale Johnson who had just called me. She said she couldn't tell me which company he worked for, but she put me through to his number. Of course, I got his voice mail. I left a message telling him I was wondering why he had called me from NC if he represented a county office in GA, and that I wanted him to call me back and let me know why he was calling. Also said I would be finding out who the phone number belonged to. I'm sure he won't be returning my phone call. Unfortunately, I gave him the names he asked for, but I guess he could have found them in public records anyway. In the future, I will take the advice of asking for a request via mail!
Mia These people have been constantly calling for the past two weeks trying to get in touch with our VP thinking he is the owner. Same exp. with calling back...publications dept and a rude person! Thank goodness for call block maybe now they won't get through.
sandee hunt This is a call center trying to sell advertising for colleges and universities. The best response to get them to go away is when they ask for the name of the owner of the company, tell them that request needs to be submitted in writing.
R This number has shown up on caller ID at the same time of day for about 2 months. This morning I answered and had the same experience of the woman asking the name of the company owners. When I asked where she was calling form she gave a legitimate name of a client but when i asked why she was calling from NC when the client is in another state, she hung up. When I tried to call back, it just rang continually.
Matt Called our company as well, asked who the owner was and doesn't leave a message. I also called back, the person said publications department. I asked the company name and she said she was a call answer center. She asked why I was calling, I explained that someone keeps calling here and she hung up on me
Debbie They wanted the owner of the company and wouldn't leave a message. They have to go through me to get to him so might as well be MUCH nicer to me.
Anonymous Called this number back and they answered "publications department". No company name was given.
